I have to laugh when i hear, get the clear its a fashion statement. most eyeglass wearers I know DO NOT enjoy wearing eyeglasses. They wear contacts, and some have laser surgery just so they don't have wear glasses.

So true, and I agree...I have glasses but (before Covid) wore contacts everyday, and glasses only to drive at night, or at night after I'd worn the contacts all day...or occasionally to rest my eyes from contacts here and there. Now that I'm home a lot, I've mostly been wearing my glasses. But, I agree, the freedom of no glasses on is my preference.

That said...they have become a fun fashion statement for younger people, who don't need them to see, but the funky, big, "nerdy" glasses have been in fashion, just for fun for a few years. I believe that's who they're "selling" to when they say that.

@Desertdi  No, he never pushed progressive lenses, probably because I've not found it a problem to manage my readers. I would consider that, if I needed distance correction, too, for all in one corrections.

When I finally got glasses/contacts, about 5 years ago...that's what I have...progressive glasses and multi-focal contacts. Both work great for me.

I had gotten to the point, which you probably aren't at yet, where I got sick of having all different readers, from 1.0-2.75 (which you can't even find anymore and are still my favorite strength..I can read with them, which I can't with 2.5, and still see "normal enough" when I look up at the room.)

I still considered these for blue blocking...I have only one set of old blue blocking readers, that came with an older QVC set of 6 readers, that I wear at night in bed when I want to block the harsh computer light but am still watching something before bed.

@Kachina624

Agree about Shawn.  Then she wouldn't have to put the glasses on, take the glasses off, put the glasses on, take the glasses off...the whole day long.

@maximillian  I tried progressives and they gave me a headache. There is nothing out there that you can state is for everyone.

I see my eye doctor on a regular basis.  My eye doctor told me a couple of years ago I need readers over my contacts or we need to do something about changing my contacts.

I was told by my eye doctor to pick up some cheap cheaters anywhere.  I don't need to visit my eye doctor again over readers.

That being said, these are a pass for me.  I don't believe the whole story of why this brand was started and I doubt that IRL any of these celebs actually wear these for anything other than a photo op to promote the brand.  I also was unimpressed with the couple of pair of sunglasses I purchased from this brand.

For me, this was one of the most over-hyped products on QVC.

@BlueFinch    I'm amazed your eye doctor hasn't suggested progressive lenses for you.    Reading, mid-range, and distance, no-line lenses.   You can keep one pair on all day for multi-purpose activities.

@Desertdi.  I wish somebody would tell Shawn about this wonderful invention.

@Kachina624 , I wish people would leave Shawn alone.  Maybe she only needs readers and doesn't need help with mid-range or distance.  Maybe she does and cannot stand wearing glasses all day?

I am a contact lense wearer for distance and I need readers to see up close.  I will not wear eye glasses all day.  I have attempted more than once to get contacts to handle all my vision needs and it doesn't work.

So I am stuck with the on and off of readers.  That's the way it is. If it bothers someone that I have to take readers on and off, so be it.  Not my problem.

@Lipstickdiva.  You're not on TV before thousands of people and driving them crazy snatching your glasses off and on over and over.  For years, I wore no-line bifocals for reading only with clear glass in the upper section so I never had to take them off.  I wouldn't have considered contacts at any point in my eyewear adventures.

I refuse to buy eyewear without trying it on first. Seems the older I get the bridge of my nose is becoming very sensitive and I'm having a difficult time finding glasses which don't hurt me. I can't be the only one who has that problem.

@SilleeMee. I got a pair of the Prive Renaux blue light blockers when they first carried them and they were so heavy, I couldn't wear them more than 5 min.
