Well, she is doing it wrong and somebody just told her. She should be glad they did rather than looking like she doesn't know what she is doing forever.
That's a really common word too. She should know that.

SUNSHINE:
You're so lucky.
I wish we had open-book tests. Also tests at home.
We 'ended up' having to stay up all night, memorizing dates, names, etc.
I seriously probably didn't retain much, having to memorize all of those specific/exact dates. Dates, dates, dates.
I know several adults my age who loved History (both World and US) because they had interesting teachers who explained the 'whole picture' (so to speak).
They also are able to now recall real life World and US History stories.
'Me, not so much' (so to speak). Unfortunately.

QVC appears to be setting the bar very low for new hosts.
No more pros like Jill B, MBR, PJDeM, Leah and other long time hosts who never had such a problem.
Just out of curiosity, how do you mispronounce bagel? I know bagels have their roots here in NY, but I would think everyone in this day and age knows what a bagel is.
I pronounce that first syllable like BAY but the host pronounced it like BAG as in handbag. Seemed like she said people in Minnesota pronounce it like that then backtracked to say she's been told her whole life that she mispronounces it. Sounded like "BAG-ull".
I have friends from Wisconsin who pronounce it bag-ul.
It may indeed be regional.

@queendiva KZ continues to make so many mistakes. She should have improved by now. Very few of the last two groups are like the veteran hosts you mentioned even in their early career days. I watch about 10% as much as I did in the past. Buying more elsewhere too.

Where do they find hosts that are so uneducated? Actually, she's probably glad you corrected her. How embarrassing if it had continued.

The few times I watched this host, I noticed that she made several mistakes during her presentations...not only mispronounced words, but wrong colors and wrong names. She is either unprepared or untrained or both!! And she is no longer a 'new' host!! Several in her host trainee group are doing the job very well. At this point in her QVC 'career', she has no excuse....

Oh my, I just heard it...geez I’ve never heard it pronounced like that. I have a sis in-law from Wisconsin who pronounces handbag like handbage, a long A....

I don’t know, but I believe most of the hosts if not all of them are college educated, but I’m not sure what that means anymore🙄 my kids who are still in high school, stopped taking spelling in the 4rth grade....I was surprised, but then I thought everyone uses spell check nowadays. Luckily they are good spellers. I have a niece who is a college graduate, and never learned how to tell time on an analog clock only digital😳

I don't watch QVC anymore, at all.
There is a long time host that would do some of the St. Patrick's Day shows and she would constantly mispronounce Claddagh and Connemara.

A host not knowing how to pronounce the color of a TSV is a major faux pas. If the word was unfamiliar to her and she knew she was going have to repeat it several times on air she should have had the curiosity and professionalism to learn the correct pronunciation.
