If you have a college-bound student, best to check with their school requirements. Often a college or university will require their students to have a laptop that meets or exceeds the minimum laptop specifications for their class. Usually posted on the school's website section for new students

it is a great laptop for a student......my two daughters dont have any special requirements or specifications for laptops in college.
