Moonchilde,it sounds like you are not a fan of Mr. O'Leary.  I think the OP asked for opinions from those who have actually tasted the wine.

I didn't know diddly about him until I googled earlier today. If I sound like "not a fan" it's due to what I've read about him.

The OP asked "is it good?" And "Should I buy it?" I gave her my opinion.

I live in the middle of CA wine country, BTW - which doesn't make me an expert but doesn't make me a dolt either. I have a close relative who is a sommelier, so I do have some knowledge.

Whether it's good or not is up to you.  Everyone's taste in wine is different.  I've tried some wines that are supposed to be excellant and they weren't worth the money and some cheap wines that were fantastic.  I've had wines that friends and relatives love that I hate and vice versa.

I have never been to a winery where I actually liked the wine.  I don't know what it is but I find them all nasty.  We have some very local wineries and I"ve been to them all.  We have an area a couple hours from me that is winery after winery after winery.  We did a girls trip out there for a weekend. Again, I found all the wines gross.  2 years ago we even went to the fingerlakes region of NY to various wineries and there was nothing I tried that I was inclined to buy.  Other peopIe on the trip came home with several bottles.

@DarlingDino

I took a chance last year and ordered the TSV and was pleasantly pleased. I preordered this current one from the Q Insider mag and I enjoy this one more. Last year had chardonnay, pinot noir, burgundy and moscato. I wasn't a fan of sweet wines (moscato) so I made wine spritzer with Perrier and it was good this way.

The new TSV is more to my liking. I thought the rose would be sweet like the moscato but it's not. It's very fruity and I love it. The other 3 are very enjoyable to me, love the spiciness of the syrah. I'm glad I got this on AD. I love wine but I'm no expert. I like what I like. I usually buy La Crema, Menage a Trois, Coppola, Gnarly and Ravens Wood. O'Leary's are just as good if not better than some of in my simple, humble opinion.

I seriously doubt the "wine expert" knows jack about wine. I have no doubt he would bottle the cheapest kwap he could buy.

He's being termed "The Canadian Donald", has been trying to run for office and is a Shark Tank alum. He's a financier.

A major Canadian newspaper deems him a smoke-and-mirrors ath.

It's like he's selling Two Buck Chuck without knowing or caring if it's any good. His bit on QVC is to convince people who know zero about wine that he provides quality wine. He probably bought the harvests of a couple of down-on-ther-luck mediocre vineyards and bottled it as cheaply as possible. But ooooh, it's a Kevin O'Leary wine! Except that no one outside Canada probably knows or cares who he is.

ETA that I just read an article by a guy who makes his own wines, where these wines are being sold at (some?) Costcos for $9.99 per bottle.

His wines aren't even sold in Canada. The last time he had a TSV wine I showed my husband the QVC home page and he laughed quite a bit about O'Leary selling wines on QVC. O'Leary used to be a talking head on one of those CBC business news shows and he also was one of the "dragons" on CBC's Dragons Den (the Canadian show is like Shark Tank).

I like very, very few California wines.  (Gnarly Head is good)  I like old vines from France, Italy, Spain. I get reasonably priced very good wines at Trader Joe's

I prefer and love many California Wines.  I would NEVER buy his wine.  I will stick with my $12 to $22 bottles at Kroger.

I'm no wine expert, nor do I follow any rules about what kind goes with certain foods either.  I'm sure I've made some awful mistakes like drinking mosacto with meat (gasp!), but I don't care.  I drink what I like regardless of the rules.  I ordered the O'Leary variety pack last year and didn't like the reds at all.  Of the whites, I did like the moscato.  Since Kevin kept saying if you liked the moscato you'll like the rose, I decided to order 3 bottles of the rose this time around.

To follow up....
My set of 3 bottles of Rose arrived the other day.  I put one in the fridge to chill and opened it a little while ago.  As I said, I'm not wine expert, but I know what tastes good and this stuff is horrible!  It tastes like vinegar.  There isn't one good thing I can say about it except that the color is pretty and I like the shape of the bottle.  Never again.
