I'm tempted to try this. I feel like no matter what I do, I just keep losing and gaining back the same ten pounds. I need to lose seventy!  It's just so frustrating. This seems like a good deal. Only it seems like A LOT of carbs. I usually try to do low carb. I am pre diabetic but manage to keep my A1C low with diet. Any opinions on using this? I'm getting at my wits end with trying to lose weight!Woman Frustrated

Just an FYI:  QVC has a NutriSystem TSV on August 30th.

No idea what the configuration will be.

Re: NutriSystem on HSN Today's Special

I’m always trying to get some extra weight off. Started a trial with noom. We’ll see.
I know for me the nutrisystem would probably fail because if I don’t like something I won’t eat it. Some say the food is not that great. I’d rather make my own. Hope you find what works for you.

Imho Nutrisystem is a great diet plan because you learn PORTION CONTROL, that being the only way to keep the weight off.

I know they've come out with various plans, including a plan for diabetics.

I don't seem to have a weight problem now,  but have ordered it before because it's so convenient and just as tasty as those  frozen dinners at the store.  IDK what HSN is offering, but if you can select your own menu it can be tasty.  I definitely would stay away from their chocolate shakes - I found them gross and tossed them out, but to each their own.

Re: NutriSystem on HSN Today's Special

I did Nutrisystem about 20 years ago.  I wanted to lose some post pregnancy weight.  I did it for a month and I told my husband to never let me do it again.  Even though I lost the weight I wanted and I did keep it off, the food was absolutely disgusting.

[ Edited ]

I have a friend that's released* weight recently and said it's been so easy.

 - eat only within a 6 hour window (ie 12-6)

 - eat protein one day, carbs** the next and a combo meal every couple weeks

 - activate the brown fat cells which burn fat (easy 15 min video on youtube - search Just Swing Arms to Activate Fat Eating Cells to Lose Weight 70 Times Faster)

 - take berberine (1000mg in the am)

 - take garcenia for healthy metabolism 2-3 times a day (1000 mg)

This is what is working for them - may not be for everyone but definitely cheaper than $200.

* losing means you want to find it again

** low glycemic versions (ie brown not white rice/bread/pasta, berries not watermelon...)

Re: NutriSystem on HSN Today's Special

@Starpolisher I've used NutriSystem Food Sets like this off and on when I simply am sick of planning meals for myself but need shelf not fridge storage foods. What I prefer about this plan is you eat from your kitchen 2 days a week meaning, you're not eating their food and only their food all the time. I love a big salad with roast chicken, vegis and my own dressing; this allows for it. Or having steak or salmon or whatever it is we're eating either over the weekend or a specific night.  I found I just couldn't handle their food ALL the time so this plan offers that break. Good luck if you decide to order it Smiley Happy

Re: NutriSystem on HSN Today's Special

@Starpolisher    My sister gained a lot of weight over the years and was very frustrated and disgusted and tried Nutri-system but absolutely hated the food.  She even went to a nutritionist who put her on a very strict diet and she lost weight but was miserable because it was a very strict diet.  Then one day she decided to try to lose weight on her own by first cutting off eating snacks at night.   Then she started eating smaller portions at her meals.  She continued to eat the foods she loved but just less of them.   In one year she lost 15 pounds.  By the third year of being consistent she had lost almost 60 pounds.   Most people want the weight to come off fast so they go on these fad diets that may work temporarily but the weight always comes back.   She hates articially sweetened foods or artificial sweetners so rather than eat those things, she would just limit herself to sweets so that she only had them on occasion.   Her doctor was so pleased and she no longer dreads going to the doctor for her physical checkups and hearing "you need to lose weight".   Maybe looking at this as a long term journey and not a quick fix may help.   3 years may seem like a long time, but the months and years fly by as we know and for her it's been a success.   There are times when she has company or goes to lunch or dinner with friends and she may over indulge but the next day she gets back on her routine and it works.   She's much happier with herself now and feels better physically so this keeps her on the right track.

Re: NutriSystem on HSN Today's Special

I would see a Endocrinologist if I were you. With the Pre-Diabetes, probably insulin resistant. I saw an Endocrinologist a year ago and I have lost 76 pounds with his guidance. He did put me on Munjaro, my A1C was at 6.3 and is now 5.2.

I also would lose weight, then gain it back. I never lost this much weight in my life.

Even if you don't go on medications, the Endocrinologist can guide you. I would chose a MD that specializes in Metabolism.
