Re: Ninja TSV - January 3, 2023

@jackthebear I was thinking the same thing, why do I need a portable blender?

@Group 5 minus 1 Not all smoothies are sugary. It depends on what you put in it or if your shake mix has sugar in it. I use stevia in mine.

I will stick with my Vitamix. I can't take listening to the Ninja rep who can't pronounce the letter T. "Just press the buh-on to make it go." The funny part was at midnight when she loaded up a blender, pressed the button, and nothing happened and she coudn't get that one to work and they had to cut away.

@jackthebear To answer your question, we use the Blendjet to take to the beach. My husband is a type 1 diabetic. He surfs a lot, 3 hours at a time. As soon as he gets out of the water he needs to eat/drink something. He likes to drink a protein type drink to keep is blood sugar from dropping. Of course the grandkids then want a smoothie of some sort also.

There are many times we have used it. When going to a potluck and we need to whip something it is so easy. I have yet to find an outlet at a park or the beach.

Also, when I worked it was great to have in my office. There were limited outlets and the one's I did have were used for the computer, printer, adding machine, etc.

We don't drink smoothies - too much sugar and we get plenty of protein other ways.  The only reason I'd buy this would be if I could use it when we travel, for blending hot coffee.  I have a rechargeable frother, but it can be messy.  I haven't heard anything about using the blender for hot liquids so I doubt it's ok.

The Ninja bullet is good enough for me and small enough to take to work.

I'm really not a smoothie drinker.  My husband drinks them on occasion and he now has a nugget ice machine which makes good smoothie ice.  However, I'm a bit leery after the recent BlendJet recall.

Thats like not wanting to buy a car because another auto maker's car got recalled.

@LizzieInSRQ A lot of cars have had airbag issues probably because they all source their airbags from the same place.  So, I might put off buying a new car until I felt that issue had been taken care of at the source, especially if I'm not in real need of a new car.  I don't have a real need for a portable smoothie maker which I did mention above.

Pass. Bought the Blend Jet when they raved about it. Charger quit after a month.  Not much poer & the ice crusher was a bust. Not buying any brand again.

Re: Ninja TSV - January 3, 2023

My old KA blender works fine if I want a smoothie.  Have never needed anything more powerful or portable.  So it's a no for me.

I'm glad I didn't hear the rep's non-pronounciation of "button"... Cat Frustrated
