Re: Nespresso TSV - November 1, 2023

I'm happy with my inexpensive DNSLY single cup coffee maker.  I bought it several years ago on Amazon and paid like $20 for it.  It takes K cups and it makes a nice hot cup of coffee!   I do like fancy pants coffee's but that's a once in a blue moon treat.  Right now I am enjoying my Dunkin pumpkin K cups, yum!   Oh and that's my later in the morning 2nd cup.  I always brew a pot of a bold Peet's for the first cup!

I have tried a cup of Nespresso coffee at my local kitchen store, and it was very good, and I love the fact that the pods are made from aluminum and you send them back to the company to be completely recycled and re-used for new pods.  However, even a couple of years ago, those pods worked out to over $3 per cup of coffee!  I can get Keurig pods for under 50 cents a cup, easily, or fill a MyKcup with my own ground coffee.   I just cannot justify the extra cost of a Nespresso machine and it's coffee, it just isn't that much better.  Sorry, Q and Nespresso, keeping my money in my pocket.

Editing to add:  there is quite a long thread about the TSV over in the kitchen forum, it would be quite instructive for anyone considering a purchase of this device to read that thread before you hit the "buy now" button.

If you buy the pods directly from Nesspresso they aren't that expensive. They have an auto ship program, and always have promotions. I just ordered 110 pods and two free sleeves for $108.00. Free shipping over $35.00 and they ship fast.  I ordered around 7 am and got my tracking number two hours later.

Not all pods are flavored. They have descriptions for each pod on their site.

I buy pods for the office. They work out to about 65 to 80 cents a piece.

@CamilleP    Friends switched some of their coffee treats to a Nespresso, but for me it's not a substitute for my Keurig.  I like my coffe hot and black, no additions please.  Nespresso would have to be dessert for me and I truly don't want to give up treasured counter space for that.

Maybe I just don't get it, but single cup coffee makers don't thrill me. But, I also don't want a huge one that makes 10 or 12 cups. My husband & I drink our morning coffee together. We like our small coffee maker, which makes enough for two big cups. It brews faster than the big coffee makers, yet there's enough for us to have together.  If we want a second cup we just make more & it's done in about 3 minutes.

They have all kinds of regular coffee. Not all coffees made in the machine are meant to be made into something sweet.

I would love a Nespresso machine, but the pods are too $$ overall compared to the Keurig we already have.

It's surprising and refreshing that this gadget only comes in two colors. At last we don't have to listen to the long color countdown with this TSV.

I've had my Nespresso Vertuo for about 19 months.  The best cup of coffee I've ever had.  But it's not this Next model.   Min e is the Vertuo, not Vertuo Next.

This TSV is the Vertuo Next.  Do your research before buying this.  The previous Next model was a huge problem for Nespresso.  It had many problems and had awful reviews.  It's the only model I'd never get.

@Caaareful Shopper THANK YOU FOR THIS INFO!!! I was considering this for my husband.

He will go over and over the different colors of the Pods themselves.  Smiley Very Happy
