Hi Ladies and Gentlemen!
I am seeing more often than not, products not having its country of origin, where the product is manufacturered.
Even when people ask this question, a Customer Care Rep from QVC - her name is Janet (in this case) says that this information is not available. How can a customer care rep not be able to find out where a product is manufacturer and where the ingredients come from?
There are 2 reasons. QVC doesn't want to write "Made in Taiwan or China, etc. Nor does QVC want you to know where the ingredients came from.
So, please assume that when QVC or its employees do not have an answer or just do not know, assume the product IS NOT MADE IN THE USA and of course, the ingredients are NOT FROM THE USA.
QVC thinks if they don't print anything and have its employees write that this information is not available that this is an acceptable response because what this shows is QVC obvious attempt not to provide you with information that might discourage you from your purchase. When information is not available, assume that there is a reason this information is not available and make or do not make your purchase Wisely.
Thank you.
Not A QVC Customer Support Person or QVC Employee.

I have noticed this. I generally look for items made in the USA to purchase so I do look at the product/ingredient information and find it not available more and more, or abrieviated versions as in "Imported", which is not good enough for me. I've also noticed this with brick and mortar stores where I pick up the item for the information I'm looking for and it isn' there.....

To me, "Imported" with no indication of country usually means "made in China." If it was made it Europe, they'd surely say "Made in Italy," "Made in France," "Made in Ireland," etc. Same thing about made in USA - they'd shout it from the mountaintops. Now, why a Customer Service Rep wouldn't be able to say where a product is from, I don't know. It's either a secret or a training deficiency.

Posts like this are silly ahd pointless for several reasons.
First, and foremost, is that many proucts are no longer made in this country, and generally speaking, most people refuse to pay for American-made products, opting instead for much cheaper imports. To clim otherwise is disengenuous.
Secondly, and more iportantly, is that the post ignores reality. Most products we purchase contain ingredients or components from mutiple countries or, in many cses, may manufactured in multiple countries. For instance, there is a line of popular storage containers sold here and other places produced in at least five different countries, so various pieces of the sets they sell can come from different places, so a single country of origin is not known.
As for customer service not knowing the source, so what? I daresay if you go into most retailers and ask a random employee about the specificis of a product in its vast inventory that she would be abale to give you specific information off the top of their head, and I daresay that neither QVC nor any other retailer has enough staff to seek out and research pointless, esoteric questions from people who like to thinj tgey are "fighting the good fight" fir sinetgubg tgat us ytterkt sebseksss,
Until people are willing to pay premium prices for American-made products (they are not) and pay fair wages to American workers, get over it.

I drive American.......but as far as the "small stuff", I really don't care.

As soon as there's no country of origin, I know one thing - at least one item in the TSV was not made in the USA - maybe something as insignificant as a brush.
But, more importantly, I know the vast majority of buyers probably don't care. I'm not buying this TSV so I haven't watched, but if I did, would I find a few thousand or more buyers - most of them will keep what they ordered.
Beyond the QVC customers, I think a huge percentage of Americans don't care-- the people are speaking and they want cheap products even more than they want Made in America although they'd be happy to buy MIA if it didn't cost more.

Say what? Perhaps a preview of what you have written before you post might be a more effective way of making a point. I daresay you lost quite a few readers before the gibberish and no one appreciates a condescending tone.

This (bolded by me) has been my observation. While I've seen numerous things that said 'Imported', I've seen other items, such as Le Creuset that say 'Made in France'. I've seen other such examples, too.
I think that a lot of the complaining about products from China were the catalyst to them changing from actually showing that on a product page to just putting 'Imported' in the field.
I don't know if I'd go so far as to say that if the CSR doesn't have an answer it means anything automatically, however. I think it is very possible that they don't have such information and are probably looking at the same product page we see.

Just was making this point since there are many women who ask this question all the time. Today's TSV is one such time. So for me, there is a point.
QVC customer service should know where the product is being made. And this information should be available for QVC employees to provide to potential buyers.
When you go into a store and ask an employee a question and she or he doesn't know, the employee or you can speak with the manager. Usually, a manager might be able to answer the question or find out the answer.
It is not unusually to say where certain products come from even if there is more than one product in a TSV. I've already seen this.
Just because you don't care doesn't mean other people do not. Yes, there is an issue with cost and that is why many things Americans utilize are made outside of the USA. There are many women that will not buy make up if it is made outside the US or contains parabens.
Next time, skip to the next thread just as I will ignore your misguided rants!
