Just curious- why is Jane calling model Rebecca "AKA Mrs. De Winter" ?

Did Rebecca marry recently? If so, best wishes to her. She seems sweet.  Smiley Happy

I think Isaac produced that name for her on one of his shows.  It is a character from a movie I believe with Joan Fontaine from the1940s.

Thanks @stellabystarlight! Of course- Mrs. De Winter is the name of both the first and second wives in the book. The first wife's name was Rebecca. I don't remember the second wife's name.

Thanks for the explanation. I should have known it would be an "Isaac creation"!  Smiley Wink

Re: Mrs. De Winter

[ Edited ]

The second Mrs. de Winter is unnamed in both the novel, where she is the narrator, and the film, where no one refers to her with a first name.

Being named after the first Madame de Winter isn't much of a compliment.

I agree @Johnnyeager!

I read the book once, but never saw the movie.  Smiley Happy

That book has stayed with me over the years.  It is dated, but might read it again.

Do you consider all classic literature "dated"?

I thought Rebecca was a classic too.
