I need to know what to do about the temp. loss when I place my turkey in the oil. I always start at 375 but it drops down so fast I don't know if I should just leave it alone or pull the turkey out and let the oil come back up to temp?

Hi @axxman, good question. Leave the turkey in the oil, the formula of 4 minutes per pound takes into account the oil recovery time. Leave your fryer at 375 degrees and use the 4 minutes per pound formula, make sure your internal temperature is 165 degrees and you are ready to enjoy!

Hi!  I am so excited to get this turkey fryer home to play with and share with my YouTube community!  I saw the midnight presentation and loved it!  My husband walked in the room and told me to order this!  We have been considering purchasing an outdoor turkey frying set up but have had some reservations with regard to the safety issues.  This fits the bill in so many ways for us!  We can use this to fry our first turkey ever.  We have never done that before.  We can use this as a fryer and steamer for lots of different recipe video presentations on our YouTube channel and that is the most exciting part for us!  I am always excited to share awesome products with my subscribers when we can and share recipes that show them how they can cook at home easily and on a budget.  There is no question that this will be used a lot!  Especially with the holidays and then Superbowl!  I can see a boat load of wings coming out of my kitchen for the big game!  Looking forward to getting this and sharing it with my Noreen's Kitchen YouTube subscribers!

Can you make a ham in this?  Can you reuse your oil at all.

Hi @PATTYJO, we would not recommend frying a whole ham. Slices of ham would be yummy! You can absolutely reuse the oil 6-8 times by straining properly and storing in a cool dry area.

Re: Masterbuilt Q & A Chat - November 2nd

Is this unit too large for frying 10llb or under turkey breasts or chickens?  There are only two of us so I'm unsure about the size. I've seen the smaller versions but the control panel is different.  What  size  should I be considereing?

How do you clean this unit? How many times should you use the oil for a turkey brest or whole chicken?

Re: Masterbuilt Q & A Chat - November 2nd

Hi @Fressa!

This fryer is perfect for a small amount of food or a large 22 lb. turkey.  You don't have to fill up the entire basket - and this is an incredible value today for the TSV.  You can fry just enough for two people.

The unit is easy to clean.  All parts are dishwasher safe, except the element which you wipe down with a damp sponge.  If you use peanut oil, you can drain and store it for reuse 6 to 8 times.  Store oil in the original container in a cool, dry area.

Thanks!

Re: Masterbuilt Q & A Chat - November 2nd

Thanks for your reply Masterbuilt.....I greatly appreciate it but......

Part of your reply was this:

"The official warranty is listed at 90 days, but we will take care of you for up to one year from the date of purchase".

Masterbuilt that is nice to read here on QVC.com, but as an informed Consumer I most certainly would prefer to see those words of a one year warranty, actually written exactly that way on the enclosed warranty delivered with the Masterbuilt product.

I also prefer to know exactly what any written and legal warranty states, well before I decide to enact any Consumer purchase.

Masterbuilt according to the Law of our land, it is always stated and very wise to get everything in writing, and  I am from the old school where I believe in that old saying of  "A bird in the hand, is better than 2 in the bush"Smiley Happy.

Masterbuilt perhaps you can keep this in mind and update your Masterbuilt warranty policy to exactly match your written words in this reply to me........and then perhaps I shall purchase your Masterbuilt products.

Many thanks!

Can you try deep try a Turduken, if so for how long?

Hi @kgcove, because the Turducken is stuffed with other birds, the meat would not cook evenly. In order for poultry items to cook properly the oil needs to fill the cavity. We recommend another method for your Turkucken.
