Re: Le Creuset TSV Dutch Oven

@novamc1

Thank you for that information.

I'm sure I have a booklet somewhere if I bothered to look!

I regularly use my large and small Dutch ovens for roasting vegetables at 400° and haven't had a problem yet. I guess I need to be careful.

@LisaMofSLC yes these are pricey items for sure, but if you can get at least one piece in your lifetime, I'd highly recommend it.  I have several pieces but I use them daily and they are well worth it for me.  I love to cook and they make it easy.  I love all the blues too but I ended up getting white (to go with my other pieces:  midnight blue, dune, ocean).  I get so inspired by everyone's ideas for things to cook in these vessels.  When I came home from church I made red lentil soup in my 3.5 qt pot and now I'm waiting for brownies to cool made in a small braiser (basically a 9 inch round cake pan size diameter).  Googled both recipes, the soup turned out great...hopefully dessert will be just as good.  Smiley Happy

Edited to add:  Wow!  Why have I not made brownies in these pans before?  Perfect!

This TSV was /is an incredible value. Best price at QVC for this item. It is truly much more in retail stores and online. I ordered the Marine Blue. I have a few of these and really love them. I have seen them at home stores but I dont know if they are first quality there..Hard to decide color they are all so great!!! ❤️

I hope I didn't cast any doubts on pieces that may be found in the home stores. If so I apologize. I have never had luck finding the Le Creuset there.

Both of mine are from Marshalls.

The stainless steel knob is oven safe, it doesn't have a temperature limit that I can find.

The classic black phenolic knob is oven safe to 375 degrees.

Because I cook at higher heats than 375, I have replaced both knobs with the stainless steel version.

@The times I've had my oven @500 my lids are off for browning.

 I do think I'll replace my 5qt Brasier and 6 3/4 oval dutch knobs to metal. I like how they reflect the color of choice.

@CLEM

I see some are listed as medium and large. I have no idea what my 5qt braiser and 6 3/4 qt oval dutch would take.   I'm going to replace my knobs for sure just for the look alone. I like they reflect the color of the piece.Cat Very Happy
