Le Creuset Pronunciation

[ Edited ]

OK, I have been watching all day and have listened to each host pronounce the TSV name.  From the people I have talked to that are actually people from the company, they say Lay Creuset not LA Creuset.  I know this is a very small thing to complain about and I apologize but I am so tired of them saying the name the wrong way.  OK my rant is over.

QUICK! Make your purchase and change the channel. Sounds like you've been watching QVC too long today.🤣🤣

Lol.  Just googled it and it shows "luh".  Maybe a fluent French speaker can step in.

From what I recall from my French classes, "le" is not pronounced as "lay" or "la."  It's sort of like LeBron. . .like just the "l" sound or maybe "luh"

luh-CROO-zay or leh-CROO-zay

@luvmybeetle

It's not LAY or LA.  It's more like LEH, but with a French pronunciation.  Now I'll bet that didn't help you at all, but that's the closest I can get without actually speaking to you!

 I lived in France for 10 years.  The correct pronunciation is  "luh-CROO-zay" with emphasis on middle syllable.

Re: Le Creuset Pronunciation

the sales people at the le creuset store that i shop in also say it with LA versus LE. as long as they are nice and helpful i dont feel the need to correct them......LOL.

@luvmybeetle It's funny, I've been watching off and on all day too, and was thinking the same thing, that it was being pronounced differently by different people. Then Mary pronounced it Luh tonight and I was finally like, wut??? How in the heck do you pronounce it and which way is actually correct? Thank you everybody for teaching me the proper pronounciation.

Maybe I can sleep tonight now.  .  . So do you think French people worry this much about how they pronounce American product names?
