I think it's a clever idea to use hosts as the models for the color palate.

@cjm61 - I agree with you, BUT - I once watched the host of a one-hour show present a new (at the time) brand and completely monopolize the vendor's time talking about the shade SHE would wear. She ran through the colors so quickly without letting the vendor discuss the shades.

I also watched a show with Nancy where she started with a clean face and applied the products as the show went on. She also let the vendor discuss ALL of the choices. THAT I enjoyed!   Smiley Happy

The shades online look very confusing to me.  Using the hosts/models didn't help matters, but increased the guessing game for me.

The Tan online looks very light, yet they claim that's what Brenda the model is wearing in this photo.  Brenda's natural complexion is darker than Leah's.  Yet they have Leah in Rich, which still looks far too light for Leah; she may be wearing it, but it looks like a terrible match. Then they skip several natural skin complexions to get to Jayne Brown wearing Deep.

I'm about Leah's true complexion, but I could never match with Rich or Deep.

I would not know what shade to get. I don't think much effort went into trying to truly get good foundation matches.  It'll be a day of, hearing "don't over-think the shade!"  That's an instant turn-off.

Pass.

I think that it is a cost saving idea to use hosts' faces to show the shades, so yes, clever in that way, to pay fewer models.

Passing, not because I don't think I will like it, just not in the mood to buy makeup.

Hi @Caaareful Shopper 🤗

Good luck deciding. I hear ya I’m fair skinned and It sure can be challenging sometimes picking a shade for me too! 😂

And I’ve seen Brenda without any makeup on and I thought her skin was much lighter than when she wears makeup. To me Leah’s skin is darker. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@RescueLover   I agree with you that it's very tricky to be able to tell complexions and shades.

It can very much depend on different lighting in photos, and different settings.  I'm only going by memory and some of their social media photos.
