Re: Joan Rivers TSV - August 19, 2024

I like the snaps. The ivory is the best color, maybe because it is more tonal. The other plaids have dark stripes going horizontal and lighter ones vertical, so from a distance I think those horizontal stripes stand out and would make me look wider. I am passing on this, even though I bet the hand feel is great, but I am not a plaid person.

I have plenty of Joan's jewelry from back in the day, and I think it's funny that Joan liked gorgeous feminine jewelry but also gravitated towards these mannish styles in clothes.

I really liked seeing Melissa Rivers and sounds like she will be back on remotely later tonight. I like Bitsy. She's a great presenter.

Re: Joan Rivers TSV - August 19, 2024

I absolutely love flannel shirts and have a stock of Carhartt and some other brands.  Flannel shirts are my "uniform" in the cold weather.  I have lots of colors and basics and layer them with base layers.  I  have different material weights and lengths.  I would buy the TSV in a heart beat (love the snaps) if I didn't have all I need.

It looked cute on the photo of Melissa, but now I see it and not so cute. It's just too long, even in a Petite. And I don't  care for the boring straight hemline in the front/ sides- does nothing for the body. Really nothing special here IMO. Joan would not have approved it. Enjoy if you buy!

Not happy about the shirt hanging lower in the back, always a turn off for me.  I am sure the fabric is nice, but plaids just do not look good on me unless I am doing yard work and don't care how I look.

I was excited about this TSV and mentioned that in a post on another thread with the picture of Melissa. Now that I see the shirt, I am not sure.  Not crazy about the colors.

i guess i am the odd one out.

i like her flannels.  very well made.  & i like the longer length in the back  goes good with skinny jeans or yoga pants.

i do like the ivory and the purple, its different.

i have enough black and white, blues and the ginger i like but its so seasonal, i would not get much use out of it.  to me it just screams Autumn only.  not a red person.

so maybe the ivory &/or the purple.

i am ok with the snaps, but really prefer the look of buttons.

still contemplating....

Re: Joan Rivers TSV - August 19, 2024

Love the ivory & dusty purple. I'm a big flannel shirt lover and, when I first saw the rerun presentation this morning, decided to get the purple since I don't have anything in the closet in that color. After watching the entire presentation and another on the morning show, not sure I'm getting it. This design, which is what the line always carries, seems to be a bit heavy on the bottom. Love that it's 100% cotton and really like the snaps. Reminds me of the old Shepler's shirts from Wichita that I used to wear in the 80s. This is one I'd have to physically touch before purchasing, looks a bit thin to me. Nice price. A nice flannel would be the only thing I would need for much of our winter weather; may buy before the day is over. If they sell out of my purple color, I'll know it wasn't meant to be.

Re: Joan Rivers TSV - August 19, 2024

I like to wear flannel when it's cold.  There is no doubt wearing flannel is a casual look, so I don''t mind the big buffalo checks instead of the the smaller. And why not go with more contrast using pretty bright colors.  Also the shirt tail style of big shirt is what I prefer instead of the straighter hem.
