Has anyone here tried Isagenix for weight loss? The company keeps winning awards and I have heard great reviews.

They don't appear to do much advertising. I heard of it through my fitness group. They offer more than weight loss regimens. It is a lifestyle thing. I was curious because of the awards they win - for the business side and also for breakthroughs. It is expensive, however.

Re: Isagenix vs. Nutrisystem

I did Isagenix about 4 years ago. I only did the 30-day program which is very restrictive and not meant for long-term. They have a maintenance program, but I never used that. After the 30 days, I had a much greater appreciation for Food! I also learned portion control and never regained the weight I lost. I do still use their powdered shake in the mornings. Isagenix was perfect for me because I like micromanagement type food plans.

ETA: I initially went to a presentation and testimonials about health benefits is what got me to try it. My blood pressure was too high and people there said Isagenix could lower BP. I wanted to avoid meds so decided to give it a try and it did help. The weight loss was an added benefit.

Thanks for answering. It is good to hear that you kept the weight off without doing the maintenance program. I only have about 10-15lbs I would like to lose and did not want to "invest" if I thought I would have to be doing this for months. I also liked the fact that there was no pre-packaged food involved.

Re: Isagenix vs. Nutrisystem

My 2nd cousin sells it. She lost a lot of weight with it. I hear it's expensive.

Now my sister is doing it and lost 11# in 13 days, or 13# in 11 days. My sister says she may do 1 or 2 more months. My other sister isn't so successful. I think it's very hard to do.

Re: Isagenix vs. Nutrisystem

If you can stay on a strict regimen you will lose weight on Isagenix. You basically drink two "shakes" plus one very low calorie meal, each day for 5 days then for 2 days you ingest liquid products plus water only. By the end of those two days, I was ravenous but managed to lose weight until I became bored with it.

It is very expensive. I could tolerate the liquids if I held my nose while chugging it down. I forget the name of one of them but it tasted like prune juice only not as good as prune juice. Check the sugar content in the shake ingredients, its surprisingly high.

Sorry that I can't recount the details, it's been several years.

There's a little pressure to sell which feeds their pyramid structure but is easily ignored if you simply want to be a consumer.

ETA: The shakes don't taste bad at all. Just the other stuff. They also offer bars and other snack items to help through rough spots.

Re: Isagenix vs. Nutrisystem

Thank you all for your answers! I looked into it more and spoke to the people at my fitness place who are selling it. I don't know if this is for me. I like food too much ad it is too expensive to cheat on. I tried the Berry Shake because it is dairy-free. Yuck! I have a dairy allergy, so the other two options are out for me. I think I will stick to my routine and spend more time in the gym.

Re: Isagenix vs. Nutrisystem

I use Isagenix and find it so easy to lose weight. You just follow the plan and it works. The cleanse days are difficult but you can do it. Mind over matter and I just take it easy on those days and get to bed early. I like the shakes, they are better than so many I have tried. I think you could lose the 15 you want to lose in 30 days.
