I got one!! My DH and I had only been dating 2 months before Christmas. He shows up with a package wrapped in Hanukkah paper. (We do not celebrate Hanukkah) I opened it to find an electric toothbrush. He later said it was supposed to be funny because we did not know each other well. I told him he was lucky that I married him considering his idea of humor.
The presents have never gotten much better, but he did turn out to have a lot of other good qualities and is a good husband. He is not a good gift giver.

Gotta say, it might be an improvement for some gifters!
Guy at work was stumped as to what to get his wife. Long time marrieds and he descrbes himself as very practical.
He gets her a gift card to the grocery store. "She's there weekly" "Should come in handy".

From someone other than my mother, who gave us all one each Easter and Christmas, I wouldn't be pleased.
My husband's first gift to me was a set of steel darts. It's actually the best he's ever done with gifts. We met in a chat room and my user name was Mistressofthedarts. So, while I've never played darts, they are one of my prized possessions. Nowadays, he asks me if I bought myself something. It's a surprise for him instead of me.

@Snowpuppy The grocery gift card is pretty bad. One year I got a lovely assortment of mustards to go with the new skillet.

Lucky he didn't wear the skillet!

"Re: How would you like a toothbrush for a gift?"
My reaction...
"Never argue with a fool. Onlookers may not be able to tell the difference."

These are all so pitiful and so funny!

I think it's a good stocking stuffer, as in TSV.

Well, you can give one to the mailman, teacher, UPS and USPS . They always encourage you to have a gift drawer and this should be it. Who knows maybe they can brush their teeth while doing their job.
