Re: Hotel Collection TSV - December 12, 2024

I don't burn real candles very often, mostly just use my flameless ones.  I do agree regarding breathing in these types of so called fragrances..........I did not research anything about the product but in general it takes chemicals to create the fragrance.  Anyway, my thing is DH is very sensitive to smells, especially perfume types so when I think my home needs refreshing I just open a window!

These have horrible reviews. I have always wanted one but then checked out the reviews. They only last about 3 months. The oil leaks and gets into the diffuser and then it stops working. The company only warranties them for 60 days. They also scam you into subscribing to their scents and if you cancel early you are charged $99. I checked out the BBB and other review pages and they have no customer service. You have to leave a message and then you may or may not get a call back.

I have a couple friends who have exquisite homes.  Retired business women, they have the fragrance called "hotel consigliere" throughout their homes.  There once was piped-in music and now there is also piped-in fragrance.  They also have elevators in their homes.  Yes, I am jealous of the elevators.  My knees would love them.  Not jealous of the ladies.  Love both of them but jealous of their elevators and their homes that smell like 5-star hotels.

@Nonametoday I have a friend who has an elevator in her home too!  It was a new build when she purchased in an over 55 community.  It's a good size and she uses it for so many things like laundry , etc.

I asked her what would happen if there was a power outage and she got stuck in the elevator.  She told me that there is an override generator so that doesn't happen.

How I would love to have an elevator in my 2 story (really 3 with the basement) home!  I know that I could stay here so much longer but there is no good spot for something like that....not to mention the cost!

@MOMOF2BOYS   I read the reviews on a review site abd they weren't very encouraging.   Most complained about buying it from the company;s website.   Getting thep[]] wrong diffuser, some said it quit working after a short time.  Very bad customer service.   The refills are very expensive to repurchase not g o last very long.  I was considering but now I'm not so sure.

I'll stick with my Bath & Body Works candles which in my opinion are far superior to Slatkin candles.   Last year I bought the Skatin candles and diffusers.  They smelled great before they burned but nothing once I burned them.  I returned the whole lot.  It wasn't the first time I bought and returned Slatkin candles.  Last year was my last time

I was recently on a cruise and as I walked around I noticed different swanky scents coming and going.  Turns out they were using essential oil diffusers throughout.  I think this is a cool, albeit expensive idea.  I am getting my last holiday bonus (retiring in 2025) and will get myself this splurge.  Just wish they could've sprung for free shipping . . .

@Teddixat @MOMOF2BOYS QVC has offered this item a few times in the past during Saturday Morning Q. I was interested until I read the reviews on QVC's site abouf folks who purchased it. I read the same complaints MOMOF2BOYS read. People complained about it leaking, quit working after a few months, the price of the refills, the lack of customer service. Some folks said QVC should stop selling since the company is not responsive to its customers.

I don't see anything wrong with what Alberti said. You can be a Slatkin lover and still like this product. I like Slatkin, Cheerful Giver and Bath & Body Works candles. Who said it has to be one or the other?

Due to my asthma I have to be very careful about fragrances & scents in my home. I can tolerate an apple cinnamon scent and a lemon scent. I have a candle and a few table top diffusers I can use as needed. Would prefer to open a window, but depending on the season that can aggravate my asthma and allergies too.

I don't want my home to constantly have a fragrant odor. Sometimes I walk into homes and businesses, and the fragrance hits me in the face like a ton of bricks. Like perfumes and colognes, I think a little goes a long way. Since I can't tell others how to use scents, I always carry a mask because I might need it. Everyone who knows me understands. If someone who doesn't know me is offended at my mask, that's their issue. I have to protect my lungs and breathing.
