What kind of Nook do you have because I can watch TV on mine. I have NookHD and I can view TV shows using my Comcast account, HULU and You Tube. I can also access Netflix content using my subscription.

Come on people! Do you think this would be a good backup? I have an IPAD2, an IPHONE5 and bla bla.
But I m wondering if it would be a good backup. I worry about leaving the IPAD2 in the car (my daughter's car was broken into (they broke the windows) to get to her purse (called "Felony Lane Gang") google them!
Anyway, for the price or is it like throwing $ 100 out the window?

I just called my son-in-law who owns his own computer business doing cyber security for the government.
He said not to buy it because you can get a better known pad for just a little more money.
He said that stuff about expanding the info (whatever it's called) that most people never use that because they don't know or want to bother with it. He said he does it but unless you know something about computers you won't use that one.
I'm glad I talked to him because I was going to buy 2 of them. I have a friend who has a birthday next month and was going to give her one. I guess I won't buy that one.
Thanks ladies!!

I would not buy this tablet for an backup pad. This tablet is not like an Apple at all. I suggest you look at an Android tablet the Nexus 7 Generation 2 (2013), and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 8" tablet. I would say check them out on a YouTube review video, and visit your favorite Best Buy.
I like Samsung tablets, because they have an Easy Settings menu.

nutmeg3 that's exactly what my son-in-law said when I called and asked him. Smart people think alike.
Thanks for responding. I appreciate your input. I won't be buying this.

Is the tablet HD compatible? Can I stream HD through it to my big screen TV?

I am calling Barnes and Noble Customer Service now to see if I can download the Adobe flash to my Nook? So far I have not been able to do it on my own? I do not have Netflex I will ask Barnes and Noble this also. Thanks for the information You are doing a better job than QVC is!

I'm new to tablets. Do you need a virus protection plan, like on a laptop?
Can I buy additional tech support, and square trade warranty?
For a beginner to tablets, don't want to spend a lot. Anybody have advice? Thanks
