They had them at Menards last year for $5.00.  My SIL bought her aunt one last year for Christmas from either Q or HSN and it was quite a bit bigger than the one I saw at Menards.

There's a wide range in price for amaryllis bulbs; I suspect it has something to do with quality.  For myself, I'd buy a cheaper one.  For gifting, I'd buy a more expensive one.

My 90 year old parents each have a birthday in November.  It's tradition that I get them both one - for the competition and conversation.  I do pay around $20 a piece at a local nursery

but Traders Joes has those wax ones and they are not the much
