I bought my first one last year for 5.00. I loved it. Will buy local at Tractor Supply.

The cheap ones are usually a lower grade and not nearly as large or have as many blooms as the premium quality you get from a florist or gift source.  Of course you're also paying s&h.

 I bought two of them locally last year.  Both grew great leaves, but no flowers.  They spent all summer on my patio, again with great leaves.

I just cut them back and put them in a cold dark place.  Maybe, I will get flowers this winter.

$30 for one is expensive. You can get three for that price at Costco.

@BdBettyB  If you have access to a local nursery, you may find these there, even like a large diy store (lowes home depot). I would buy one there at my locals.

Sadly all of our local nurseries closed down near me years ago. There's is an Ace Hardware in my area and a Home Depot in the next city south of me. I'll look at Ace. I honestly have never purchased an Amaryllis before.
