I was tempted to purchase the cute BEARPAW boots, but reviews stated they are not cushioned under the foot.  Reviews also mention "no arch support."  Considering they're touted as great for hiking (although that's not all), I'm surprised those are the specific factors that seem lacking.

Has anyone had experience with Bearpaw's "NeverWet" coating?  They do not say they are waterproof, just NeverWet.

Considering they are Bearpaw brand (and I own many), I just don't feel it's a true hiking boot for the real hiker.  I like them for ankle support and Neverwet coating for icky fall and winter wear.  I own several of these mid-hikers in better brands and they are very heavy.  These would work for me for what I would use them for.  I am leaning toward the brown and I do think they are an excellent price.  I do find it odd that there are no 5.5.  Half sizes start at 6.

I own the classic BP "Elle" and the Neverwet suede treatment is permanent. I wear mine in the snow and ice. Very warm and comfy.

Although the TS hiker boots are cute I wouldn't buy them based on the reviews I read. Plus I don't care for any of the colors.

ETA-

Neverwet is not a coating but it's the way the suede has been treated to make it waterproof. Shoes/boots made with Neverwet will keep your feet dry in the rain and snow but if you walk in a deep puddle or lake they are not waterproof in the sense that the water will go into areas like around the tongue, flaps or laced parts of the boot/shoe...they are not rain boots.

Re: HSN TS Bearpaw Boots 9/15

I have these boots and like them.  I bought them late last year or early this year to replace the Sporto hikers I had worn for several years.  I would wear them on any of the type of hiking I would do which would be mostly guided hikes or small group hikes.  Also zip-lining, which requires hiking to get to the lines.  The zip-lining I've done has been at the ski resort we go to, and while it is a trail throught the woods to get to each zip, it is not well-defined and, depending on the snow, you may be hiking through knee-deep snow; and if you step off the trail it could be considerably deeper.

I can't really say about the foot-bed.  I always put my orthotics in these type shoes.

I have the Rosy style from a previous TS (723-183) and love them but there's no arch support. The inner soles are flat. Others have said the same thing. It's the only Bearpaw that I have. The Neverwet treatment is wonderful and so is the style. But they probably wouldn't work for lots of walking and I haven't tried.

This style is completely different. I like the black with the turquoise laces and trim but don't need anything like it. The host said in the presentation that hiking boots were very much in style right now. I would infer that these aren't meant to be used for hiking. They were described as being very lightweight.

@Icegoddess, I am glad to hear you say you bought them to replace your Sporto hikers.

I ordered a pair this morning for that very reason.  The Sporto's I have are called Debbie and  I have put a lot of walking miles on them; they need to go in the trash!

Hopefully this will be a good replacement.

@kare29 my Sportos were the Debbie 2.  They were still in pretty good condition, but I was ready for something new.  They were a light tan, so you can imagine, even with the never wet, they were no longer pristine.  Before that I also had some red Sporto boots I wore the dickens out of.

Re: HSN TS Bearpaw Boots 9/15

I purchased last year and would not purchase again. No support under the foot and not very comfortable.  I don't think the comfort is there for the price. I got some real hiking boots at Sportman's on sale for less.
