Re: HALO TSV - August 31, 2024

Best addition we made at our house was a whole house generator.  Storms took out power in my area for two weeks and my whole house generator immediately kicked in and everything kept right on running.

Not sure how these work.  Say you want to plug in your refrigerator which is obviously in the kitchen and you want to use a fan in the bedroom, and an appliance in another room, and an upstairs light, do you run extension cords from different rooms to the unit in the kitchen? That's a lot of long extension cords, or maybe I got this all wrong.

Yes, you would have to run extension cords from the unit to the appliance that you want to plug in.

I have yet to hear how long it will run a refrigerator.  An hour and 46 minutes to charge isn't bad, but how long is that good for?

We have an Eco Flo.  We tested it out and I believe it ran our refrigerator for around 8 or 9 hours.  I hope I am remember this correctly.  We keep it charged up in the closet.

As far as the solar panels, we purchased the largest one that Eco Flo makes and it never charged up.  We had it out in over 80 degree, full sun for a full day and the needle barely moved.  We sent it back.

The one we have now is smaller.  We haven't tried charging it with the panels.  It would have to be a real outage to drag those out.

@tends2dogs  Thanks for your response.  I can't imagine all those extension cords, that alone would be an expense.  Anyway when I loose power it is usually for days so this wouldn't help much.  When power goes out I empty my freezer and bring it to a friends.  I've learned not to have a fully stocked freezer.  Full house system is the way to go if you can afford it.
