In some states, if you have snow or ice on your roof and drive, you're in trouble. You are supposed to remove all the snow and ice from your rooftop because it dislodges and falls onto traffic or the road behind you.

They should make snow car condoms for various models. Cover the entire thing.

And for the opening on the top…why didn't they cinch it or magnetize it? The snow will fall on that "lip" and weigh it down to allow more snow to fall on the windshield.

I think this is for Hollywood snow and not real, in the middle of the storm, snow. Snow isn't fluffy all the time when it falls. It can be, and oftentimes is, heavy, wet, icy, stingingly hard. If you had three or four inches of heavy wet snow on top of this tablecloth, you would need another car to hook into it and pull it off.

It might be good for bird poop, pollen, light fluffy fairy snow, leaves and needles, or just to hide behind when parking on lover's lane...

I didn't even read the reviews yet, but what concerns me is the elastic bands that you pull over your mirror's....In my personal dealings with elastic or any material that stretches, it really doesn't last long in temp. extremes...I'd love to be able to have a clear windshield on a cold, snowy, winter morning, but I'll have to pass on this.

That is a very good point! We've all had those straps just slack out and then what? You try to tie knots in it to take up the slack. But in reality, what would stop the entire thing from blowing off the car in the wind even if the elastic was at its tightest?

I have one from Walmart from about 10 years ago. I didn't know these existed but apparently in the colder climate states these are a must have. I was dating a guy from PA who assumed every house had one. LOL When we couldn't find it at Walmart in VA, we looked for them at the Walmart in PA when we were there for a visit. The one I have, you just close it in the door frame on each side of the car. It works perfectly. For me, it's great for frost, which is more annoying than anything else.

For deep snow, I am able to take one side out and pull it across the car and dump most of the snow on the other side. I'm sure if I had a second person helping me, we could carry the snow somewhere else.

I will look at the ones at Costco. I have always wanted a second one. I would like one for the back window even though I have a defroster there, it will go much quicker having this.

I'm concerned with the amount of bad reviews here (or look up # V32235)

.

If you read the questions on the TSV they address all the improvements they have made. One addressed the sticking to the windshield when it got wet. They said this waterproof material now does not stick.

Smiley Sad I didn't read that. I cancelled mine because I was afraid after I read the reviews also. But looking at the demo I can see where it might not be the best thing for heavy snow because you would still have to brush it off first, which is not a big deal. But I just don't want to have to go through all that and remove the cover to find ice ... no point in that.

There are other brands on-line with good reviews but the price is much higher. Guess you get what you pay for.

I got my windshield cover at Target several years ago for less than $10. The car's doors hold it in on each side. (What's to prevent theft with the TSV just being strapped on?) It does save me from having to scrape ice. I also cover each of the wipers with a tube sock & pull each one up so they are vertical & not resting in the ""well."" This prevents them from sticking. I'm in CO.

I have last year's model and wouldn't be without this wonderful item! I have no access to a garage, so this is the next best thing for me. I had no problem with the straps freezing (which seems to be what a couple of reviewers complained about). True, they got icy, but I was able to get them off the car without much difficulty. In retrospect, I think if they did freeze, I'd probably take a hot cloth and thaw them before trying to remove them.

I ordered two more this year. I don't want to be without one and this year's version has a couple of improvements. The main one is the fact that this model now goes down over the windshield wipers.

Great product!!!

I have to agree with VCamp2748 that theft would be a serious concern since it is only held in place by elastic straps. If it is really such a good item, it would likely be taken right off the car while you are inside someplace. It seems like the ones that you close the doors to hold in place would be less likely to be stolen.I would want to be sure it covers the entire windshield and does not leave any portion exposed. Also, you are still left scraping the back window, or sitting in the car for a long time anyway waiting for the rear window defrosters to work. They are still developing the one for the back window. I wonder if it stays wet/damp when you put it away in the trunk or backseat – wouldn’t it likely grow mold?It seems like a good idea, but so far, only partially solving the problem at hand. It needs more work before I would buy it.

Have you ever considered someone just removing these guards off your car. A person can remove the elastic off the side view windows a lot easier than the wind.

I don't think the sharks would have invested in this product.

My review.

I bought this product for 2 vehicles. Left the vehicles outside since the guard cover only shows that it works if the car is left outside.

Either the wind or someone swiped this guard covers?

Might as well leave a $20 and $10 dollar bills on the wiper. You'll save on the tax and shipping.
