Re: Elemis TSV - October 25, 2024

I have been using the Marine Cream with SPF everyday for the past 5 years.  I do not find the scent offensive or strong.  It goes on smoothly and wears well under makeup. I have tried many day creams and this one is the best I have used.  My skin drinks it in and is very smooth and clear.

How can Elemis claim to be a pro-collagen cream when collagen cannot break the skin barrier.  Does it have other ingredients ?

@DJP There's no collagen in it.  Look at the ingredient deck.  Pro Collagen simply means it's supposed to maintain/stimulate collagen production.  That's how I understand it anyways.  @Sugipine can probably give a better definition.

You might look at Neutrogena's new Collagen Bank line which touts Pro Collagen as a cheaper alternative.

Yes, pro-collagen includes ingredients such as plant/herbal extracts and even some mushroom extracts, too. Pro-collagen contains building blocks of amino acids (tiny pieces of protein) to help support collagen production in the skin. Collagen is a large protein molecule that is found in the body as strands which support structure in the skin and around the body. The collagen strands are made up of amino acids where they can begin to break down naturally over time and from aging. Providing the skin with topical amino acids, such as the pro-collagen creams contain, can help maintain healthy collagen strands plus provide a good base for hydration. Proteins are naturally water-loving so they can help keep skin hydrated and plump.

@Sugipine @Icegoddess

Thank you for the explanation about the Pro Collagen. It gives me a better understanding about the ingredients.

Re: Elemis TSV - October 25, 2024

I forgot that I just got a sample size Elemis cleansing balm in a TILI box, so I finally tried it. It smelled medicinal, but I LOVED the texture of it, so I ordered the 3pm OTO green fig cleansing balm duo, hoping that version smells better. I think I am passing on this TSV. I'm sure this is probably a great price for Elemis, but those jar sizes seem very small for the cost.

Hi!@scrapperlisa 🤗

When you mentioned the size of the jars it made me think of the last 2 jars offer they had in January 2024 for $98.98.

Customers weren’t Happy, because the jars were smaller 1 oz jars vs. the regular size 1.6 oz jars they were used to getting with a duo.

Todays TSV is back to their ORIGINAL sized jars of 1.6 oz. 🤗

Elemis definitely went back to the regular size jars this time after the reviews were so poor in January.

Todays deal is really Outstanding!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Especially since it includes their 1.7 oz cleansing balm.

HAPPY customers this time around !! 🤗🤗🤗

Re: Elemis TSV - October 25, 2024

I've not been catching much QVC lately, but I had to buy this set since my Elemis auto-delivery from last year is coming to an end. Their creams work very well for me, especially the overnight one. It absorbs nicely into my skin, and I don't wake up with a greasy face. I use Paula's Choice to cleanse, tone, and exfoliate. I use Josie and Elemis together to moisturize since my skin can get a little try. I have found this combination works great (for me) to moisturize while keeping my complexion under control. There is definitely a detectable floral-ish smell to the Elemis creams. It doesn't bother me, and it does fade eventually, but if you are sensitive to scents, it is definitely something to consider before buying.

I tried Tatcha for a bit and wanted to like them, but my face did not react well. My hormonal jawline acne flared up big time with their products. BUT, I do really like their eye-cream. I actually like it just as much if not more than my Elemis eye cream.

At the end of the day, you just have to find what products work best for you and hope the company never decides to change them.

Hi! @PamHeet 🤗

Do you use a pea size amount of the day and night creams and warm in the palm of your hand like directions state?

Just curious because I don’t use a pea size of any face creams. I just don’t think that small amount would give me good results?

Expensive products! No Thanks. I don't ever see any improvements in my skin from any topicals-

If they work for you, great!!

Re: Elemis TSV - October 25, 2024

@RescueLover

I definitely do not! Lol.

I don't use a lot, but it's absolutely more than a pea sized amount. I use my middle finger and dab it in the cream once for the forehead, once for the nose/chin area, once for the cheeks, once for my under chin area, and once for my neck. I don't typically apply anything to my chest area, as it is prone to breaking out into small, pimple like bumps. (Charming, I know.)

I know that sounds like a lot, but my auto-delivery shipment arrives once every three months. I find that at the three month mark, I still haven't used up my previous shipment, so it does last awhile.

I get the SPF version of the day cream, and it lasts even longer because I don't use it every day. For my day-to-day - especially when I know I'm going to be outside working in the yard or garden - it seems a waste to slather on such an expensive cream, so I alternate it with a more affordable sunscreen. I mainly like to use the SPF day cream underneath makeup when I'm going out.
