Oral collagen vs. topical collagen.

I've been taking oral collagen for about two years and I love what it has done for the elasticity, hydration, and moisturization of my skin.  If I skip a few days, no worries, results don't disappear over a few days of not taking it.  It has provided wonderful, noticeable results for me.

For me, I have no need to use topical collagen.  Pass.

Do you mind sharing which oral collagen you use?

@isaboo   Yes of course -- I take the Marine Collagen Peptides by Lessman on HSN.  No taste whatsoever; I put a small scoop in my morning cup of coffee or my afternoon protein smoothie.

I love their cleansing balm, it works really nice and smells good too-not perfumey but just a good, clean smell. It is one of the better cleansing balms that I have used.

@mnmom I smell no scent either! I loooove Elemis. I've been using it for at least 6 years and I have to say my skin is beautiful overall. Sure, do I have some lines and fine wrinkles, yes! But the texture and clarity is beautiful. I swear by this line. Every time a TSV tempts me to try something else I always wind up returning it and going back to Elemis. For my skin it works beautifully!!!

My skin loves the Elemis products.  I use the peeling and resurfacing products to remove dead skin cells so the serums and moisturizers soak in.  I love the cleansing balms and resurfacing facial wash gives me great results. And, when I use the products faithfully, twice a day, my skin looks it's best.  The only scent I dislike is the rose.  It's too strong and sweet floral.  I like the other scents.
Depending on the season and weather, I also reach for some of the Josie Maron products at nighttime for extra moisture.

I got a sample of Marine cream and could not use because of the STRONG perfume smell.  Could not imagine putting that all over my face.  And the scent lingered.  I used it on my hands. Easy pass for me.

I love this Elemis set! Use it every single day. The fragrance is very light and it is wonderful under makeup. This never beads up under liquid or powder makeup. The collagen night cream does have a bit more scent, but the results I notice in the morning are truly great!

@sunshine45What does it smell like? Icky? Perfume-y? Does Marine Cream smell fishy? I've heard about it having a bad smell before, and am really curious. Why does it sell so well if it is so stinky? Does it work?

I love a good face cream, but this TSV would have to be way cheaper for me to try it. I did try Tatcha this year, and so far really like their products.

@scrapperlisa I use the Marine Cream and it does not smell fishy at all.  To me it's a light scent.  There's a Perricone Cold Plasma product I remember people saying smelled fishy.  emi

I did try an Elemis serum once that had a very strong perfumey scent.  I couldn't use that up fast enough.  Because of that, I'm leery of trying other Elemis products although I might find the TSV more tempting with just the cleanser and night cream although I'm pretty happy with the night cream I'm currently using.  It's not really a night cream, just a cream that could be used day and/or night. I might need something more moisturizing once winter gets here.
