1500 Wh doesn't sound like enough for a small house with "all-electric" appliances like a/c, water heater, stove, and fridge...

A 50 gal water heater ALONE uses 4500 watts.

What would you use this for?

Like all generators this won't work under several feet of water.

This is not a whole-house generator.  It will power a few appliances like your refrigerator, computer, coffee maker, oxygen machine, cpap, etc. for a limited time without recharging.

The rep said it will power up to around 2200 watt appliances, which should have been mentioned in the product description.

If you're looking to keep hot water, you need to look into a much more expensive whole house actual generator.

It's a short term emergency generator.  Keeps your sump pump running or refrigerator.  Powers a radio or lamp and charge phones.

A hot water heater retains warm water for 4 days or so.  I remember from hurricane Sandy.

Think of it as a large rechargeable battery.

It's disposable whereas a gas/propane generator isn't.

as I've said before- for every day of boring tech, food and vacuum cleaners, they owe me two days of purses and clothes 😁

Re: EcoFlow TSV - October 5, 2024

It's a nice option to other portable generators that are quite heavy, even the smaller ones, and must be run outside.  Just don't count on it running even a small portable heater in winter if the power goes out.

We have a small Honda generator we used after tornadoes took out the power for a week.  I can't pick it up.  We ran the refrigerator, TV, computers etc, but not the hot water heater or the freezer, so we lost a freezer of food.  We had to cook on the propane grill.  Couldn't even run any of the small appliances like a single burner.  A week without power here is a very rare occurrence though.

Still, I would love a whole house generator.  Don't know what we would've done had we lost power back in January when we were iced in for a week.
