No, I too was thinking what a strange tsv and yes maybe innapropriate without supervision.

But beyond that, what is the appeal to them? How are they different than a toy remote helicopter thing? What am I missing?

Oh they take live video "streams?" even worse!!

Can just see all the places they shouldn't be used.

Kids and remote control flying devices with cameras....no potential issues at all...lol. Then you get the oddball neighbor who decides to harass or invade privacy. Ugh.

Yes, like my neighbor.  And he is a grown man.  Creepy and weird.  He has done other annoying things as well.  There is something wrong with that guy and I wish they would move.

Some communities and even states do have safety regulations for these and they are never supposed to be operated out of view of the operator. Commercial ones cannot be over 55lbs. There are other guidlines as well and maps showing which states have regulations in place.

OK ladies, don't get your panties in a bunch.  This drone is a toy.  It's not some high powered FBI spy drone made to fly over foreign soil or some commercial drone built to deliver your packages to your doorstep.  My 10-year old grandson will love this.  He has been wanting one for awhile and specifically wished for a white one.  I've ordered it along with 2 of the additional lithium batteries to give him extra flight time.  I'm weary of buying him Legos every Christmas, though he does love them., so can't wait to see his reaction when he opens this gift.  I did check with his mom & dad before ordering to make sure a toy drone meets with their approval.

I agree with you.I bought one for my 22 yr old grandson. I just don't see what everyone is upset about. They are not spy  wepons.all this upsetment over thinking everyone is looking inyour windows is just plain silly!!

I don't get drones as a "toy".  Would rather buy a child something that stays on the ground, like an RC car.

Re: Drones are inappropriate TSV

I must admit they sound pretty innocent and then not when one considers what kids COULD be doing with them.

I guess there might be some limitations on them legally in order for them to be specified as "toys?"

What about incoming planes --- including the safety of lasers?

The next thing will be drones with lasers; drones with cameras; etc.
