I have a mandoline that works well.  This just seems more trouble than it would be worth.  I guess if one can't use a mandoline it would be handy.

Mine arrived in purple and I do like it. There is a learning curve but I also don't  like to read directions. Lol I also am a breast cancer survivor and my right arm swells so this is easier for me.
