Re: Christmas In July/TSV/Christmas Tree?

I have been pleased with my Mr.  Christmas trees in the past but this price seems very steep.

I would want a normal remote; not talking to my Christmas tree.

I bought my new Christmas tree, a National Tree Co. tree, from Wayfair last month.  It's a 7.5' Carolina Pine tree that QVC has today for $487 (it has been reduced from the $600 price last month).  I purchased the exact same tree from Wayfair's warehouse sale for $183, with free s/h.  Not just any tree on the cheap, it's the exact same tree!

I put it up and lived with it in my living room for three days to make sure nothing was wrong with it.  It's absolutely gorgeous  and I love it.

Re: Christmas In July/TSV/Christmas Tree?

I thought the prices were quite high. I don't need an Alexia to control my tree settings. I did like the 9 foot flocked one. I just thought it was too expensive. Years ago, we bought a flocked tree by Martha Stewart, and our entire house was covered in the flocking and glitter. Every year our rugs had glitter and flocking in bedded in them. We ended up giving it to Salvation Army and buying a regular green tree.

I am a bit nervous though, I pickd up the 5' tree yesterday and saw people complaining about the number of lights on the trees this year.  For example the 5' tree I bought only has 200 lights on it.  According to last year's tree by Mr. Christmas, the 5' tree had 500 lights on it!  Now I don't know if that was a mistake on behalf of the hosts as well as the rep from Mr. Christmas or not.  I did go to YouTube and watched videos from last year's Mr. Christmas Alexa tree, the 5' tree does NOT look to me like it has 500 lights on it, it looks the same light wise as this years tree does.  So I'm not sure which is which when it comes to that subject.  But just doing some Googling, most sites say a 5' tree should at minimum have, 300-350 lights on it.  200 seems a bit on the low end to me.

For some reason I think this tree is going to be going back.  Too late to cancel now!

P.S.  According to rumors in the Q & A section for the product page, there is no warranty with this tree lol.  I have contacted Mr. Christmas to confirm this.  If this is true, they should be ashamed of themselves!  I do agree the TSV was a bit pricey, but I did like the light show choices and since the plan was for this to be my one and only tree, I decided to go for it!  I might have regretted that decision however, if so, back it goes and the Q can pay for the return shipping.

I keep hearing about chip shortages ( Computer micro- chips to make things operate....)

No wonder...wasting them in a Christmas tree is ridiculous.

As silly as the new washer I just ordered and recieved...I can connect to my phone or computer with the washer. REE-DIC-YOU-LOUS.

The day I need an "ap" to tell me when or how to wash or get the load out, please put me away.

Just gimmicks for gimmicks sake (IMHO).

Just try to remember the difficult task of loading and unloading the machine. It ain't that hard, and it's why you have a BRAIN.

The chip "shortage" is a myth. Its a ploy to try and transition our enegy supply off of fossil fuels (with disasterous result). Its mainly affecting the car industry for  obvious reasons.

I called into customer care this morning about this non-warranty.  They confirmed the tree has NO WARRANTY and they have gotten a TON of complaints about this.  Lots of orders cancelled left and right, I don't blame the customers.  That would explain why all the sizes are still in stock.  My order is already in the process of shipping out, they can't stop it but told me I could return it to them at their expense.  This just wasn't meant to be.  Smiley Mad

Re: Christmas In July/TSV/Christmas Tree?

I had to call Customer Service back this morning, because Mr. Christmas doesn't seem to reply to E-Mails and their phone number is not listing on their website.  The rep gave me their number, I called and it goes straight to a voicemail system, nobody will even answer the phone.

I find this appaling that an almost 100 year old company conducts business like this.  I will not be purchasing anything further of theirs.

The Bethlehem Lights trees have a limited manufacturer's warranty.

Not sure what their phone service is like though.

Bethlehem Lights trees are boring to me, they have no light shows and are extremely expensive.  I'm very big into lighting, I would not be happy with their trees.

Re: Christmas In July/TSV/Christmas Tree?

This is an E-Mail response I got from Mr. Christmas:

Dear Scott,

Mr. Christmas offers a 90-day warranty on all of their products, but due to the seasonal nature of many of our items, should you have any issues during this holiday season or the next, please reach out to us and I would see what options we have available to resolve the situation.

Wishing you all the best,
Steven
