That fan is so small, it would only be effective in a very small space like a tiny bedroom.   It's a good idea though if you have an overhead light into which you can screw it.

Bought this for DH's office upstairs, it is absolutely worthless. The light is to dim and the fan is to small to move much air even in that small room.

It won't work in my overhead light fixtures b/c mine are side-mounted double bulb fixtures where the sockets are set on their sides.

The fan being advertised in the infomercials right now is much smaller;  I think the one on Q looks more substantial. It would be helpful on a small covered porch, but not sure it would be weather-resistant. I do like how easy it is to install though. We have ceiling fans in every room except the kitchen, of course.  I hope anyone who ordered this little fan is very happy with it.
