As long as you use the same phone number, your old tracfone hasn't expired and you are upgrading your phone.
I believe that covers it and yes if the above is true.
Just noticed there's a Tracfone Q & A thread.....best be asked there.

A few months ago I got a used I-Phone 5 from my Son who got a new I-Phone 6PLUS.
I had a working older model TracPhone wth Minutes/Days on it. My Dad also has an older model working TracPhone he is happy with to make calls with, he does not text.
Long story short, I got on Trac Phone *CHAT* and transferred my minutes to my Dad's phone! I had over 1000 minutes. I do NOT like talking to TracPhone Customer service. The online chat worked out great for me. I had to have my Dad's phone number and his long Trac Phone ID number which I have because I manage/order minutes/days for him.
Good Luck and do let us know how this works out! CAT

Don't count on transfering you service days or minutes. When Tracfone could not activate my husbands TSV purchased a few months ago, the cut his active phone off and he lost his service days and his minutes. I wouldn't trust them.
