They say not to use fabric softner or softner sheets.  I would think static would be a major issue.  Thats what keeps me from ordering.

I mostly use wool dryer balls.  Never seem to have a static cling issue.  Not sure if they're the reason, but I haven't used dryer sheets in years.

I think those items could be taken out of the washer and just hang dry,

I don't use any kind of fabric softeners in the dryer or the washer. I have those wool dryer balls and they work fairly well but they don't eliminate the static completely. So I always end up having to use Static Guard Spray on some of the items, like on most of my fleece things. Hate the smell of that stuff and I spray it outside. Wish someone would make an anti-static spray that didn't smell so strong.

I have to use fabric softener.  I've been popped by some painful static and my dogs too.

You are so right! I have the original cardigans, pilled as soon as I wore them. Made the mistake of buying 2 pairs of tsv pjs last year. Washed them first, then they pilled, pilled, pilled as soon as I wore them. Cheap fabric. I am done with this brand!

I live in them ........no problems with static and i just throw them in the washing machine and dryer with no extra thought about them at all !  Many I have had over a year of constant wear and they still look like new  <3 .

I have one from last year.  It's the open front cascading cardigan with the hood.

It doesn't have a pill on it and I hang it to dry and don't have a static issue either.

I honestly think much of the pilling problems people have is what they wash together.
