I have the Blendjet 2 and love it.  No it was never designed to chop large ice cubes.  My ice maker makes small cubes and this crushes them. It holds a charge just fine.  I have a Ninja blender rarely use it as it's so heavy and a pain to open the top.  I had a regular blender and threw that away.  For those that feel this little blender didn't work for them that's fine.  Mine work just great for me.

I purchased one for a relative for Christmas and she loves it.  I believe it was also the Blendjet 2.  I ordered one for myself this time.
