lol, GO Rick, GO! Miles  ahead of the chef, who is trying to single-handedly man 15 grills with food on all of them while the Host is lunging, auctioneering, stuttering and firing questions at the Chef about cleaning the griddle, the utensils, and eating a sandwich while the Chef has to read the card for Rick. 😂 Go Rick, Go!

Hey, sounds like a typical day at the Q to me. Lol.

All joking aside, this really is a great little griddle. I bought it when it was the TSV last year. The size is a little more compact than similar Blackstones sold in my local stores and it is the perfect size for my back deck. It cooks up food fantastically, is simple to clean up, and gives my kitchen a much needed break. I’ve always just had charcoal grills, and I was so surprised how much better food cooked up on the Blackstone. I am an outdoor griddle convert!

Its 31 degrees right now at QVC Studios. Rick is a trooper not even mentioning it.

Instead of cooking one thing after another on multiple grills I need to know about assembly.  I can't consider this until I know if it easy to put together since I will need to assemble on my own.

Good question. I just went to the description and the unit ends up weighing altogether over 65llbs. For that alone i wouldnt assemble on my own although i am pretty handy.

I would hire a handyman  type company or have two friends to help me as with my back, i cant assemble this myself with help even now.

@Biftu The griddle is not difficult to assemble BUT after putting together the lower portion, you do have to lift the actual griddle portion (which is the heaviest part) and place it on top. If lifting something is going to be a problem, I would get a helper (son or daughter, neighbor, friend). If no one is available, then no, I wouldn’t suggest buying. Regardless of how well it cooks, it’s definitely not worth putting your back or anything else out!

Nice @PamHeet I bought it last year too. I don't need a big grill and I like the flat top so that things don't fall thru the grate. clean up is easy.

it's a good thing to have for outside cooking.

I have this same exact griddle and have had it for quite a few years now.  I have a different stand, though.

You would need to assemble the lid on the griddle....easy.

Then assemble the stand.  The griddle just nestles down on the stand and can be used without the stand.

IMO, the griddle is not all that heavy, at least for me.  We have a carrying bag for the griddle and take it on our boat.  I can handle carrying it.

We prefer using our griddle over the grill for most things.  It is a really nice thing to have and food cooks well on it...without all that water the vendor uses on the food.  Don't do that.

You can buy this same griddle on Amazon for $150 and a folding stand for it which is  $100 which is much more portable.

The TSV is really nice, but you can't take it with you.  Well, you can if you take it without the stand. I take mine, griddle and stand, on our boat, to a friends house, to a park...where ever.

We have a portable Blackstone that we keep in the RV. I don't know why, but food taste better on the Blackstone than on our Weber grill we use at home. If Weber ever dies, I will be getting a Blackstone.

Re: Blackstone Grill

[ Edited ]

I bought the 17" in 2021....perfect for single person like me....

BUT....

They didn't mentiont that the griddle top needs to be seasoned ( much like a real cast iron frying pan)....with oil or Crisco or whatever....not hard to do, but they didn't mention it in the presentation. DOn't know if they mention it in THIS packup....

There are plenty of videos on You Tube and info on Google how to season the Blackstone griddle top. It appears to be a necessary step.

I notice in THIS offering there does not appear to be a manual online to read BEfORE you buy it.

I got mine with a stand.

Note...the item I got had no wheels on it. If you plan to put it  and leave it in one place on your patio, fine. I wanted to be able to use mine outdoors on the driveway, then wheel it inside after clean up and use....to keep it clean, and also don't like junk outdoors after use. Or, I could use it on my patio and wheel it to where rain will never hit it ( yes there's a cover, but I like to keep things dry.

There's also the matter or neighborhood male cats who may ...ahem....PEE on things left outdoors!!!!

The thing is WAY too heavy to lift when it incude the stand, for one person like me.

So...I went on  the Big "A" and bought an "adjustable furniture dolly" used for moving washers and dryers... about 35 dollars in 2021.They are lightweight, there are many versions, and are really useful!!!!

There are many versions but this dolly is SHARP!!!! Note it's made to support washers, dryers and fridges, although it's really lightweight, the wheels lock, and you can adjust it to fit the feet of the grill perfectly!!! Set it up in five minutes and forget it!! Can wheel it out with ONE hand!!

Now I can wheel it from the garage to the driveway, cook, wait to it to cool, clean it and put it away!!!

This one appears to use the 20# tank which is good cause those little tanks will bankrupt you!!!

Just some hints to make it more user friendly!!!

ETA: Ooops my mistake!!!...this unit DOES have two wheels ( better than the one I got! with NO wheels!!) and there IS a plate on the bottom on which to place your 20# tank!!!!). These are huge improvements making it easier to move and easier to place that tank!!!)
