@haddon9 - ITA! I think they're beautiful, but I'm not really a ruana girl. I get cold and couldn't wear this under a coat. I could wear it Sunday mornings over my dress, but I can picture it falling down at the wrong time- and on camera! I'd better stick to my soft jackets! If we went to eat I would look stylish, but where would I put it f the table is small?
I have a really pretty dark green poncho from the St. Patrick's Day shows. I love it and it keeps me warm. I can actually get away with wearing that and no coat some days.
I did find some other items though!

@beach-mom I also have a poncho. Mine is small & lightweight and since it goes over my head there is no fear of it falling off. It's also thin enough to easily wear a coat over it.
Those ruanas are stylish looking as long as it stays on! LOL!

When I'm at home, I'm constantly doing something if I'm not relaxing on the couch watching TV. I have plenty of throws and fleecy cardigans for TV viewing. The ruana would just get in my way if I tried doing many things.
I think if you're sitting at a desk for hours it might be good or visiting with people but then how do you wear that under a coat in cold weather?
I think you would wear it over your coat as a scarf. I have seen this done.
@elated Makes sense but I'm not sure if that's something I can pull off.

When I was fat, I went through a phase where a solid top and a ruana was my fall and winter look when I went out, never for around the house. For me, the ruana hid stuff but there was an issue wearing a coat over it. I just brought all of my old ruanas to the resale shop a few weeks ago since I haven't worn any of them in three years. All of the TSV plaids are pretty, but I'm not interested in going back to dressing this way.

Those are some beautiful plaids, and I usually don't like plaid.
It's so pretty draped over one shoulder.
But I pass. I don't like fringe, at all. Plus I can get a no-fringe ruana just like this elsewhere for Black Friday prices quite a bit lower than this TSV. They're everywhere.

Wow! What they say is true! "Everything old is new again!" I'm not interested in dressing this way again but if I was, I could do it right from my coat closet!🤣😅😂

Kim is a Jeanne Bice wanna-be. By the way her new book(Kims) is very good. Advice but w/a light and amusing touch.

while i like the idea of it, it just looks so messy and i feel like i would always be fixing it. it just seems annoying.
this was another TSV easy pass for me.

might this be a good choice to pack in my carry-on for our long flights to Thailand? I know it can get chilly on the plane.
