Re: BareFoot Dreams 9.15.18

[ Edited ]

I like the idea of this line more than I actually like the line.   I just don't really have anyplace to wear it.

The line is far too casual for me to wear to work.  The only piece I ever bought that I kept and I do wear is the knock-off from Colleen Lopez.  It was a dip-dye cardigan that is a manageble length and isn't too heavy.  I can wear it as part of an outfit and not worry about having to take it off because it's too heavy.

I thought the TSV was cute but again, I just didn't know where I would wear it because of the length.  I'd have too short of a span to wear something like this before I'll need a coat and I wouldn't wear this hangin out under a coat.

If you've never tried the line though, you should at least feel the material before passing judgment.  It's divine.

All of my Barefoot Dreams cardigans became matted after one washing (yes, I followed the instructions). I wrote to them, and their response was completely unhelpful. It was something along the lines of "Once it has lost its softness, there's nothing you can do. Sorry." Gee, thanks? They didn't even offer any suggestions or try to problem solve why it was happening. That is terrible customer service IMO. Oh well. I'm sure they won't miss my business.

After reading everyone's reviews (good & bad) I decided not to order due to tightness of arm.  Yet, all everyone raved about was the softness and ease of washing of this and past BFD cardis.   I know to never use FABRIC SOFTENER on this material.   Now after reading your (post) review, I doubt if I will ever purchase in the future.  Thanks for sharing, you saved me $$$~!

My Barefoot Dreams TSV just arrived and I love mine! I ordered XS. Overall fit is great: I don’t understand the negative comments about the sleeves. It’s soft, comfy, and I love the blush color. The TSV price was a good value. 👍🏻

Got mine today also and I am having the opposite reactionSmiley Sad It is too sloppy looking...color is drab....got the black....it's more dull pewter something er other.  Looks like it's been worn for yrs in appearance.  There is nothing remotely appealing to it at all.

Also ordered one of the OTO and it's dreadful also.  The color once again is NOTHING like it appeared on my TV...which is a very good TV by the way (0LED!) on TV that night it looked like a rich vibrant blue color...what I got today is drab....dull washed out...you can't tell what color it is to be honest.  SO disappointing.

I am done with BFD....it's just not for me!

Mailed both back today 9/20.....very expensive lesson I learned!

I must be doing something wrong because both of mine are have lost its softness. I never use fabric softener either. I don't want to discourage you because others haven't had my problem, so you may not. I just wanted to vent and let others know that if you have issues you are pretty much out of luck.

@JJsMom

i use liquid fabric softener on mine and have never had that problem. i now own probably 10+ BD garments.

i lay them flat to dry.

hopefully you returned your item after washing if it did not live up to its expectations. you would definitely receive a full refund for a defective item.

I ended up getting the tsv and the relaxed hoodie. I have the original zip front hoodie and it is very fitted so the relaxed will be nice.

equss how did you like the relaxed fit hoodie; was the length good and colors good?  I canceled mine because was on the fence.  Now I see it was a special price on 9/15 and is up to $121 with no reviews by anyone.  I would still consider it when easy pay opportunity comes along.

@LogoFan These hoodies haven’t even shipped yet. An email was sent out to those who ordered them saying “packaging wasn’t up to QVC’s standards” (whatever that actually means) and they were hoping they’d ship out mid-Oct.

I got my TSV and it's a keeper!

The black is muted, more like a dark charcoal gray. I am tall, plan on wearing out to shop, throw on in fall weather to head out the door. Casual look so I didn't expect a piece for the office.

I don't find the hoodie to pull at all, it's lightweight. Sleeves are not tight but for me a bit too long so I turned them back two turns as a cuff. Pockets and side slits are great.
