Why is Bose ending making this system? This is the last one they said. Does anyone know.

TIA for your answer.

Google Bose and you will see the articles as to why they are not producing this unit anymore.

@pugvette74   They said they could not get the parts for the CD player in the system.

This specific system has been outdated for many years.  This is the IV version, and it was introduced in 2015.

It needs to be updated to include the technology of today, like bluetooth, at the very least.  If you're buying an electronic sound system today that is not already bluetooth compatible, beware.  It's old before it arrives.  That's why QVC is also pushing that adapter for bluetooth.

That's not to say this isn't a wonderful sound system.  It's just that it's antiquated.  It's not about finding the parts.  It's about no universal demand for old technology.  Try finding this model at any other retailer except Bose itself, or maybe eBay.

"Bose Wave Music System IV has been discontinued and replaced by Bose Wave Music System SoundTouch IV."

 It appears QVC is selling the one that has been discontinued.

You can Google for yourself...make sure you put the EXACT model in search bar.

Read the reviews online to see why.

I have an older Bose and I am not impressed with it...highly over rated, and the CD feature failed within one year.

@Caaareful Shopper

Yeah it's kind of like buying an  8 track tape deck!!!!

Maybe they could cover it in Sherpa and it would sell a ton!!!

This is not the way most listen to music anymore.  You are so right about bluetooth @Caaareful Shopper !  Wireless bluetooth ear buds and a smart phone (& many other devices) you have thousands of songs, radio  stations, videos available.  Every song on all the old CD's are available to stream.

Even the case on this model is not like the original Bose wave radio cases, which were attractive and durable. This case appears cheap.

I do enjoy the sound of my older Bose sound system, which has served me very, very well. It was worth the money at the time.

I still love to listen to my CD's.  I am looking for a less expensive CD player though since my BOSE died (just the CD) I will not replace at this time anyway.  This is the last of the   WAVE and they are trying to get rid of them.  HSN "sold out" at their same priced sale and we'll see how Q does.  They are still $499 at BOSE and elsewhere.
