You could have used your own cord and it would have worked.

Thanks everyone for your comments.  I did not have my own cord, so that wouldn't have worked for me, but I guess it would be an option for some.

Re: Any comments about the Halo TSV?

I almost bought 3 before Hubbs reminded me that we have free road service thru our car insurance, GA Farm Bureau. You don't have to live in GA to buy their insurance.

They offered the most reasonable insurance and free services that we could find and we checked them all!

A lot of reviewers said that it's nearly impossible to get a paper version of what it covers, either from Allstate or QVC.

After a few complaints of not receiving any paperwork, QVC refers the problem to YOU to contact 'Fair Trade', whoever THAT is!

What a pain, especially if it's a gift.....no thank you! I had planned to go thru my insurance company for coverage on them.....definitely cheaper and you get actual paperwork, without having to secure it on your own!

Allstate is the MOST expensive insurance company out there! QVC should offer lower cost insurance options to their customers, IMO.

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Re: Any comments about the Halo TSV?

I've had one for several years (not as updated as this one today).  It restarted my battery one time when no one else was around and got me to the dealer where a new battery was installed.  I'd have been stranded for several hours otherwise.  Then I got one and gave to our daughter when she was at college, and she still has it in her car (recharging it periodically as needed).  So far she hasn't used it but knows how to do so.  And one time it charged my husband's car as well as our sweet next-door neighbor.  So, yes, I feel it is a good purchase.  Is it the best one to buy?  I'd say research other brands for pricing and features, but I do like that this is practically "fool proof."

It seems like we have riding lawnmower woes at the beginning of the Spring. After sitting all winter, the riding lawnmower often will not start. Out comes the Halo, problem solved. My husband has been very happy with my purchase from several years ago. His look of "are you kidding me" quickly changed to "this thing is terrific!". We have also used it once for a dead car battery. Great purchase!
