Re: 2/3 TSV DIAMOND STUD EARRINGS

Wow, those prices were shocking for " lab-grown" diamonds, which just means not naturally created.  These sure seem just like Diamonique, except price is x 100!  But they are pretty!

Re: 2/3 TSV DIAMOND STUD EARRINGS

If lab-grown diamonds don't give me the re-sale value like earth-grown diamonds, I'm not at all interested.

I'll stick with earth-grown diamonds and Diamonique/Absolute.

I bought a pair of lab diamond earrings last year. I got them mainly out of curiosity. I did not buy them for their resale value. I wanted clean real diamonds, not CZs or Moissanite and I got mine for about half the price of natural diamonds of the same quality.

The GIA grades lab diamonds just like they grade natural diamonds. When a certificate of the grade is given then the price goes up.

ETA-

CZs and Moissanite do not sparkle like a diamond. Only a diamond sparkles like a diamond and lab grown diamonds are real diamonds. Most people don't buy them to re-sell them. They buy them b/c they want something that looks like diamond and not a CZ or anything else.

Sorry but the Q is out of their minds with the jewelry today. I’ll be shocked if one thing sells out.

Re: 2/3 TSV DIAMOND STUD EARRINGS

I have 1 CTW round studs, and wear them daily, I bought them from my jeweler several years ago. I take them to him every year along with my other fine jewelry for cleaning and inspection, that's one of the reasons I deal with a local company for such purchases. They have repaired bent prongs, polished the gold, and in the case of the earrings, replaced a lost earing back. It's my comfort level.

I have JAI’s white topaz huge studs and those are fine with me. Can barely afford food right now. I also don’t think the jewelry by this line is styled very nice. Old styles and unappealing. I’d rather buy a Diamond at a warehouse club if they still sell them after the pandemic.

Don't forget the price is high because they are in 14kt gold.  The shine or sparkle of a real diamond from the earth depends on the quality of the stone.  Some real diamonds are low-grade in color, cut, clarity, and carat.  Lot's of things to consider.

Re: 2/3 TSV DIAMOND STUD EARRINGS

The Q is out of touch--at least for me anyway. My money is going toward food & other necessities right now. Even if I had the money to spend on luxury items, I'd instead use it to help others who are less fortunate, by donating to a food pantry. I do put extra food in the charity bin everytime I grocery shop. It's all I can afford right now, but I'm doing fine as long as I budget my money. I wouldn't feel good about myself if I wasted money on stuff like that, just for my own vanity, when others are food insecure due to high food prices.

Re: 2/3 TSV DIAMOND STUD EARRINGS

My jeweler, with whom I am on a first-name basis, is a diamond specialist for at least 4 decades. He is all about lab grown diamonds and bought his wife a lab grown diamond for Christmas, set in the 14K ring setting of her choice.

As I like my diamonds where I can see them and I fear losing a diamond earring, I will stick with Diamonique. I have shoulder length hair and studs are not my go-to earirngs anyway. If they were, I might consider lab grown with the most secure backs.

Anyone know what type of backs the TSV earrings have?

Re: 2/3 TSV DIAMOND STUD EARRINGS

After too many years of buying jewelry, I am now struggling with deciding what to send to thrift.  Any jewelry I buy has to be really different from what I have already.  How likely is that?
