The thing I found most surprising was that Katie & Schwartz have a COMBINED total net worth of $55,000 yet just bought a multi-million dollar home. That makes no sense to me. That net worth doesn't even seem possible considering how long they've been on the show. 

 

Maybe they think Katie's lipstick line (I'd use Vick's Vaporub for lip gloss before I'd buy from her line) or Schwartz's profit (when they start making any) from TomTom are going to sustain them once VPR ends.

They must not be claiming their tips at SUR on their Tax Return because their financial worth doesn't match their life style at all.
