"Woman of the Year" Katharine Hepburn TCM After Midnight!

12:15 a.m. Eastern--   If you're up past midnight, or care to tape, here's one of the classic "battle of the sexes" romps that Hepburn and Tracy made so enjoyable.

Although Hepburn isn't my all time favorite, she's pretty dazzling here, sparring with Spencer Tracy.  She's a famous, well-connected journalist, (complete with a fussy, protective male secretary-- nice reversal!), who knows everyone and everything-- she's a little insufferable.  He's a rough-around-the-edges sportswriter, overbearing, but the real deal.

Terrific chemistry between them in this one.

I love that movie!  I still have it taped on my DVR from PBS a few years ago.  One of her best!

The scene in the kitchen is a classic.

I love this movie.  Time is great for us west coasters!

You’re right @Oznell, Hepburn really shone in their “battle of the Sexes” movies.

Tess is a bit insufferable at times but, when she loosens up a

bit (like at the baseball game) great fun.

Dan Tobin as her secretary is priceless.  Fay Bainter, as the feminist aunt is wonderful - I’ve always enjoyed her and such a beautiful voice.

So many fun extra characters.  I, especially like William Bendix playing the bartender/former boxer with his stories (“I peppered him, I peppered him again”)
