@ms traditional wrote:i spent a little time today researching Lady Lovelace - who, with her family (Lord Byron), is a drama unto herself. fascinating, these snapshots of history about which we know little.
And Lord Melbourne's life could be a series unto itself, too! His wife had a scandalous affair with Lord Byron and then after being spurned by Byron, went mad, etc.
I also looked up Lady Lovelace....quite the story there...
One of my all-time favorite Masterpiece Theater productions was "Lillie" about the life of actress Lillie Langtry who was a mistress of Edward Vll ("Bertie") years before he took the throne. "Bertie" is the child Victoria is now carrying...

I agree about Lillie Langtry series. Francesca Annis - an absolutely beautiful woman was superb as Lillie Langtry. It also is one of my favorite series of all time on Masterpiece Theater. It is right up there I Claudius ,Prime Suspect Series as well as Downton Abbey.

I also loved I Claudius and Prime Suspect!
I ordered the "Lillie" series on DVD. And another good Francesca Annis Masterpiece Theater was "Madame Bovary."

I missed a bit of the start of last night's show but enjoyed what I did see. Lady Lovelace is played by the same actress that was in Call the Midwife, Emerald Fennel, who played Patsy Mount.

I think Jenna Coleman does a great job with her non-verbal skills. The scene at the church where she was being blessed after giving birth said it all.

Didn't have my loop on to confirm but they looked fine for drama to me.

Adding to the positive posts, Tom Hughs has a delightful mouth and the rest of him is rather all right too.

I bought the series in Amazon and I agree is a total delight, love Albert´s German accent and his commonsensical style🌻

I'm watching the Elizabeth at 90 on PBS and she is wearing a crown on the way to the coronation. It made me think of a post made previously that the crowns used in this series are not good quality. Elizabeth is wearing a crown Victoria wore in the show and the sparkle and detail on the original, even when not close up, is amazing.
