"The Damned Don't Cry" Joan Crawford (1950)

I watched this noir for the first time last night. Oh boy! What fun to watch Crawford climb society, kind of, by going from man to man. I didn't appreciate Joan Crawford or her films until I was over 50.

Yes, @PickyPicky3!  Joan was great in TDDC.  I love how she can play very nasty characters (as in Harriet Craig and Queen Bee), very sympathetic ones (as in Mildred Pierce), or truly mixed ones (as in The Damned Don't Cry). Supremely versatile. When she's on screen, I can't take my eyes off her.  And despite being only 5'3", she wore clothes beautifully -- they never wore her, no matter how big the shoulder pads!

@PickyPicky3

Sorry I missed this as I love JC in almost anything.

I just saw her again in the older version of The Women and she was perfection as a cheating floozy.

She had it all on screen! Cat LOL

@BoopOMatic  I've always suspected Joan was exactly like HC in real life.
