I really like the original movie "Mrs. Miniver" and have it on DVD. I only saw "The Miniver Story" once on TCM and have to say I didn't like that movie. This is one of those sequels they didn't do a good job with in my opinion. It probably didn't help that it was such a sad ending.

I had a feeling, without having seen it, @cimeranrose, that it might be a disappointment, and you've confirmed it for me. It seems like it's very hard for lightning to strike twice when it comes to films and their sequels or remakes!

I loved the original but not the sequel. The entire story seemed "forced." Yes, the ending is sad.

My all time favorite Greer Garson movie.

And after the chatter about the movie - I forgot to watch it. We went out grocery shopping. I wanted to see it. Well, thanks for your comments about the movie. It doesn't seem to be on Watch TCM.
It seemed to get favorable reviews on TCM. Well, at least I did not miss a great movie.
