"TALKING DEAD" STAFF QUIT OVER CHRIS HARDWICK RETURN

[ Edited ]

A female executive producer and a "handful" of the show's approximately 25 have fled since AMC announced Hardwick would resume his role as host of the "Walking Dead" after show, according to a new report.  The article did not mention if those who left were all women.

The accuser said she stands 100% by every single word of her essay.  She made sure it was unembellished, factual, and that she had evidence to back it up in order to protect  herself in case of an actual litigation, (not a network litigation) where she is not protected.

In a "very emotional" staff meeting called by Hardwick on Wednesday, according to sources cited by THE WRAP, the comedian apologized for the ordeal.  He also offered "one-on-one" meetings for any crew members with concerns.

                               ---------------------

The woman who accused Chris dated him for three years.  My first question, after reading how  long the relationship lasted is, why did she stay?  If I were being abused while dating a man you can be sure I would have been long gone before three years.  She wasn't married to him so leaving would have been very easy.   Of course none of us really know the full story, we only get what we read about them.  Why did she wait until Chris was married and expecting a child to come out with the accusations?   Just me people, trying to read between the lines.

I don't know any answers for you, but I do know it's very common for abused partners to remain silent while they are being abused and for years afterwards.

I personally believe but have no research to back me that many of us who think we'd "never" do what she did may never have been in an abusive situation or we start with such a different mindset that abusers steer clear of us in favor of easier targets.

The  problem I have with her story and any story is why wait so long to talk?

I can understand why you stay.    3 years is not that long, relatively speaking.

They are not together 24/7 so in between the supposed abuse, there were probably happy days, who's to say?

But the women who wait until their so-called abuser is rich and famous & in a new relationship makes me suspicious.

Bottom line, it's none of my business.

That's the problem I have with all of these allegations by women years after.  No one knows if the allegations are true.  It's a shame, men have to be on their tiptoes nowadays.

The continued problem I've had with this situation is that she never called him by name in her allegations - not once!  So, had I been Chris, I would not have even acknowledged it.  I think he took the high road, though, which  speaks volumes for what kind of man he is, and chose to acknowledge that it appeared to be he who she was talking about, and that what she wrote of did not happen.  I believe him.  I'm glad AMC did their own investigation and found that they could reinstate him and put this to rest.

No, they just have to treat women with respect. If they keep their hands off women and don't make advances or say lewd things to them, they should be just fine, as are most men. Men aren't getting raked over the coals for saying hello to women or treating them like equal work partners. This is about their bad behavior, not about the women reporting it.

@Lindsays Grandma The timing has seemed suspect to me too... Maybe there's legitimacy there, but there's room for doubt... As for those who decided to leave, that was their choice... One assumes they have the wherewithal to support their opting to be noble...

Re: "TALKING DEAD" STAFF QUIT OVER CHRIS HARDWICK RETURN

Is it not true that this relationship had nothing to do with work?

I don't have a problem with somebody speaking up long after the allegations; what I do have a problem with is the assumption that Chris was guilty and therefore not entitled to have his job.

After a lengthy investigation AMC determined that Chris was in the clear.

I do not feel he should have been suspended; I do feel her remarks were put out there in anger at him; whether she is truthful or he is truthful doesn't matter because neither one can be proven.

Are we to dismiss every person who has been abusive?  Women can be abusers and most of all children are abused.  Does that mean that all those abusers should lose their jobs?

The issue had nothing to do with Talking Dead and for those leaving?  Well, out of a job now that proves nothing, solves nothing, means nothing.  The nose spiting the face and all that.

People have a choice to continue watching Chris or not; and it's not going to make one bit of difference.  This too shall pass.

@Cakers3  Well stated!

I want to add that the travesty in all of this is the fact there are many women and men who do not take rejection well and when their ex moves on to anohter partner and especially if it leads to marrige these people will say/do/use anything to get even or hurt their ex.  I don't know what really went on between these 2 but it didn't have anything to do with TWD or TWD image.  If she is saying these things out of spite then she does a great disservice to anyone who truly has been truly abused.
