Re: "PENNY SERENADE" CARY GRANT, IRENE DUNNE MONDAY 10:00 A.M. Eastern TCM

Love this movie.  I don't cry easily, but that ending always brings the tears.

Re: "PENNY SERENADE" CARY GRANT, IRENE DUNNE MONDAY 10:00 A.M. Eastern TCM

I am going out with friends later this morning. So I will miss it.

But this movie really shows that Cary Grant was quite a versatile actor. And he seems to nail every performance in his movies, no matter what type of character he was playing.

Wonder if I will be home in time to watch "One Way Passage" and "Waterloo Bridge".

I will never forget Robert Osborne giving the introduction for "Waterloo Bridge". He said to watch for one particular scene with Vivian Leigh. One picture is worth a thousand words. He was so right.

Enjoy "Penny Serenade". Glad I can always watch it on Watch TCM.

Vivien was more ravishing (and younger appearing) in black and white than in Gone With the Wind made several years prior!

@Oznell

I LOVE LOVE LOVE 'the old movies!"

I missed today's "Penny Serenade" but when I searched it today, apparently it's on my Free (Cable) "Xumo" so it's on my list, esp placed on my list from my "Favorite Christmas Movies" thread of months ago, when it was mentionied there also, (along with many others).

I'm still working on movies mentioned on that "Christmas Movie" thread at that time.

@Movie Lovers

THANK YOU for this continued list of supported, beloved, recommended old movies.  My list is growing!

I cant get enough of the old movies like

  "San Francisco" (1936)  with Gambler, Clark Gable, (the incredible voiced)  Jeanette McDonald, & Spencer Tracy as the Priest.  Abt the 1906 EarthQuake.

Not always accessible!!
