Another winner to watch and see Davis do what she always did, give a sterling performance ! Her ability to act in dramas, comedies, horrors makes her a legend and we still find her movies so entertaining. Thanks, Oznell, for the heads up!

TCM is probably my favorite channel! The old movies had a plot, great dialogue, no offensive language and an adult can watch them with a child in the room. I've watched films I saw as a child and realize there was a whole different level that only adults would understand. The scene in Gone With the Wind when Rhett carries Scarlet up the staircase means nothing to a child, but adults know what was going to happen especially when the next scene is Scarlet waking up singing!

@Oznell wrote:Another amusing thing about this film I just thought of. It's one of the several in which, however briefly, Bette has a much younger suitor (Gig Young).
And then there was "Winter Meeting", where young Jim Davis was crazy about her. And there was "A Stolen Life", where younger Glenn Ford was her love interest...
I know there must be a few others, too.
Wonder if she had it written into her contract, ha.
Thought of a few more where Bette's leading man was younger...
Gary Merrill in "All About Eve" ... of course they went on to marry in real life.
Sterling Hayden in "The Star"
Ernest Borgnine in "The Catered Affair"
And surprisingly Jim Davis was just a year younger in real life but I think Bette's character was made to look older ...
There are probably others!

Excellent, @yellowBeetle! So interesting that Jim Davis was practically her age-- he seemed so eager and impetuous, while she was cautious and doubting his ardor-- that probably helped the illusion!
