The people who stay are those with the biggest fan base, regardless. Sean Spicer has a entire political party at his disposal. Rob Kardashian, who in my opinion shouldn't have been in the last three, had the K's massive base. Then there was Master P. Remember how long he stayed? How many people who are voting even remember Christie Brinkley? Why should they know her daughter? How do you think Bobby Bones won? We all know that. Honestly, each year, it's either a complaint because the winners are "too" good, or it's that those passed through are just winning because they are popular. It's been on long enough now, that people should know enough not to watch if they dislike the way the show is handled. You can't please everyone. I never vote, so I try to just enjoy the dancing and the costumes and ignore the rest. Sailor Brinkley has a modeling career and a lot of perks because of her mom. It's not the end of the world here. The judges this year have the save. They could have saved her. They didn't.

@Bri369 I agree. Did I miss something that explains she was acting like a little girl? I get that she was disappointed, that is understandable. But she was overreacting, in my opinion.
she is 21 years old and thrown into a "spotlight" of sorts.
not all 21 year old women are mature enough to handle that scrutiny.
she was way over the top with her crying!
my guess is is that she has lived a sheltered life and has been protected from failure.
She also has probably been very pampered and spoiled as well.....She seems very sweet, but my goodness she did go overboard holding her hands over her face, not looking at anyone, that was so weird to me....I get the crying, and the shock of it all, but to not look at anyone was very weird.......

There is something "fake" to me about Alaina. At times, she acts like someone who just got out of a nunnery after being there five years. The first week she said she was overwhelmed because "a man took off her skirt" - it was her dance partner.
The second week she said she was concerned about her father watching her routine - it was the Rhumba.
This week she showed me that songwriting is not her forte and she should stick with singing. Also, this crying and hugging was way over the top. She hugs her mother to the point that her dance partner has to physically pull her away and then she runs over and starts hugging Tom. Carrie then tells her that she needs to look up and quit staring at the floor - what's up with all the theatrics? I'm not buying what she's selling.

I just read an article that explains Sailor's reaction to her loss. Her mom stated that they had hoped this show would be a career booster for Sailor. Therefore it was a disappointment that she didn't last longer.
This show has seen better days and I have found it difficult to get excited about any of the dancers. Bergeron's comments about Spicer polarized the audience early on and may be partially responsible for his popular vote. JMO

two people bottom two.......the judges save the person they feel has done best.
a mix of popularity and style/effort/talent.
I, too, like the voting sysem this season. I like that the best dancer of the botton two will stay, especially at the end.
@NickNack & @Sunshine45 I totally agree. At least the new voting system reassures us that the judges will have the deciding vote at the end and will be able to eliminate the popular celebrities with no real talent. Makes me feel much better. I am actually anxiously awaiting the semi-finals and finals to see exactly how it works at that point.
I am also very glad that no politics have entered into the competition because of Sean Spicer. Although I would not cast votes on his behalf for dancing skills; he certainly seems to be enjoying himself.
As always this is one of my favorite shows. Always look forward to a new season.

I do wonder when it comes down to two celebrities if they will let the fans have the final word or the judges will choose the winner?

I like the theory of the voting system with the judges able to save the better of the two; I don't like that I don't get to vote after watching. I am not one to remember to vote on something ahead of time IYKWIM. That being said, can anybody tell me how to vote with the texting? The number and who to put? That other girl who was in the bottom two should never have been there, IMO, and in fact is one of my faves, so I may vote for her if I remember. TIA

Sean Spicer needs to go, I won't be surprised if he doesn't.

@Jordan2 Sean Spicer is being set up to win just like Bobby Bones last year. It is a dancing show yet the worst dancers win. Just not right.
