Yes, they will lose a great actor in Ashland but we get lots of air time for
Elena and Nate, Faith and Moses and Tessa and Mariah.
Just read the article and it said that there is no word if the role will be killed
off or recast.
I get a feeling that his cancer will be back even though last we heard that
he was in the clear.

The top dog in charge of this show needs a swift kick in the seat. They let go Kyle and Summer and while neither, in and of themselves, was any big deal, they were generational legacy family characters... Years ago, they killed off John Abbott, leaving Jack as a relatively weak Abbott family patriarch and Victor as the strong, dominant older man of the series. When Katherine died, they didn't have the good sense to bring in a strong older woman to serve as the show's matriarch and now they're letting someone go who might have taken over from Victor when the time comes... Regardless of how 'modern' they appear to want to make soaps, they have always revolved around certain archetypal characters but this bunch seems to think they can just continue to field uninteresting, half-baked unsympathetic characters, largely portrayed by actors with limited skills, forever...
As long as I'm on a bit of a rant, let me just mention that unless I missed something, when Jerry Douglas, who portrayed John Abbott for twenty five freaking years, passed away recently, all I seemed to see was a brief 'in memorium' at the end of a show. Someone, please tell me I'm wrong and that they offered a bit more of a tribute than that... Meanwhile, when the Neil Winters actor died a few years back, the audience endured several memorials and retrospectives, including, I believe, an entire one hour show... One wonders...

@stevieb No tribute or even any kind of flashbacks for the passing of actor
Jerry Douglas. They could have had Jack reminiscing and said it was the
anniversary or something of his on screen passing.
Yes, there were multiple Neil remembrances. One after another after another.
They play favorites with who they want to remember it seems. A shame.

Monday's show brings a special episode to honor actor Christian LeBlanc
who plays Michael Baldwin.
An hour of flashbacks and family gathering for the actor who has played
this role now for 30 years.

@threecees It really is a shame. Given that Jerry was retired I wouldn't have expected the somewhat endless series of memorials afforded Neil, but certainly more than a flash on the screen at the show's end. All part of the current thrust of agenda driven television I guess, and it's getting really, really old.

Enough with the 'special' episodes. They just had one. It's an excuse for these awful writers not to have to write. I like Christian and have always thought Michael was an interesting character. Too bad, actually, that they don't do more with him, but an entire hour of flashbacks is ridiculous.

Most of these "special" episodes are just time fillers..They kind of write themselves!

Today's show - BORING!!!!!!!!
But at least we learned that Michael will be working for Victor, thus will have a lot more airtime keeping Adam and the Mustache out of too much trouble.

The special episodes are boring. I'm sorry to see the character Ashland and the actor leave. He was a bright spot in the show. Enough with Billy and his never ending quest for revenge.

Is Baldwin leaving? I hope not. I like him if it's for nothing but he's an oldie buy a goodie.
Baldwin hasn't been around much. I doubt there will be a lot of work for him with Victor considering even he isn't around much.
I agree they should not have gotten rid of Summer and Kyle.
This has become the Devon and his. Woman and the two teenager's show.
I'm over them. Please start writing for some of the others.
Chance is nice to look at but he does need a make over.
I sure do miss the good old days.
