The Professor who offered to help Sheldon is a Caltech prof who was technical consultant on both series.

@Jordan2 Leonard, Raj and Howard did not go to Cal Tech. They met up after they had graduated from their respective schools to work there. So Leonard wouldn't be at Cal Tech when Sheldon was attending.

@I am still oxox Great ending to a great series. Loved both of them and they all had some excellent actors and actresses. Hoping Georgie and Mandy's spinoff this fall is successful.

I was not a regular viewer of Young Sheldon. I did enjoy the last two episodes.

I also cried at the funeral episode's scene of Missy saying goodbye to her Dad, it reminded me so much of my own father's funeral and all he meant to me.
I am sorry to hear that Mary, "MeeMaw" and Missy won't be part of the Georgie and Mandy series, I don't know why not. Wouldn't Marry and Connie have regularly babysat for CC? And I'd like to have seen the ongoing relationship between George Jr. and his younger sister, it was very clear how protective he was of her at the funeral, and I am curious to know what Missy does after she graduates from high school, does she go to college, or get married right away, and if so, to who? Sadly, it seems we'll never know.
Finally, I was somewhat confused at the memorial episode's conversation around Mary and how she handled raising Sheldon, both before and after George Sr.'s passing. From the way Sheldon and Amy (Jim Parson's and Mayim Bialik's characters) were discussing Sheldon's mother, it almost sounded like she had also passed away at the time Sheldon was writing his memoir. She didn't seem so old at the time the couple married that, by the time their children were playing hockey or taking acting classes that those childrens' Grandmother would have died. I have those two episodes saved on my DVR, I might have to go back and re-watch them to see if it still sounds that way on a second hearing. Am I the only one who heard it that way, or did anyone else think it sounded as if Mary had passed away?

@eadu4 thanks for clearing that up, I thought Leonard and Sheldon met at college.
If I remember correctly, Leonard and Sheldon met when Sheldon needed a new roommate and Leonard applied.
